If the car had any value...it was most likely stolen.  I have had friends who have had their cars stolen and getting them back was a lost cause.  Only once was the car recovered AND on the US side.  I can'y say they don't tow cars in TJ...I've just never seen a tow truck in TJ.

Your best bet (if insured) is to say it was stolen here in the US and let the chips fall where they may...ESPECIAALY with the "contents" you listed.  "Those thieves must have left their drugs & gun in it after dumping it!"

Needless to say the maryjane has fried all of your brains...Dude all that stuff in the US will get you a long stint in jail.  In Mexico I guarantee you have been on the recieving end of many
"burrito stuffings"

You all know the sermon, so I won't give one.  But I hope you learned your lesson, Dale.

We lose too many lives on the streets because of senseless selfishness and inconsideration for others' lives.  My friend was prosperous, incredibly intelligent, and living a happy life with his wife and young son.  Now he is gone forever and the lives of his family will never be the same.  We had a party on Friday and he and all of us at the office were having fun and everything were roses.  Monday, we were told he was gone forever.  On his memorial shrine we made on his desk, I placed the last unopened pack of Dunhill Reds that I told myself I would ever smoke.  Dunhills were his favorite.  Rest in Peace, Ram.

ABM... Sorry to learn of your loss... and the loss of a husband and father. Until we change our attitude about drunk drivers and begin to punish them in the way they deserve, this will continue to happen. If we decriminalized victimless crimes (which would empty about 1/3 or more of the space in prisons and jails), we would have the resources to lock intoxicated drivers up for the long time they deserve.

in my line of work, I get to cut drunk drivers out of their cars, I get to try and save their lives..right after I tell them they just killed a kid, I get to see the look in a parents eyes and hear the screams when I tell them their beloved child is dead..somethings wrong with a system thaT WILL confiscate and sell my car for getting laid in a convienent fashion, but be a real threat to the general public, and they will take your license, so you can now drive that wonderfull car drunk without a license, without insurance, without a care, untill someone like me comes along and wants to shove the jaws of life up your ass  (sorry about the tone and language..maybe I have just watched too many children bleed)  any body out there running for governer?? want to make a statement??? dui..first offense..imediate imponding of car untill court date..dui an UNPLEABARGIANABLE offense..found guilty, your car is confiscated and sold..period..yougot 5 years of payments left on the beemer??? your company parking space now holds a skateboard?? you have to ride the bus?? sucks to be you man...

Most likely it was towed by the police if you parked it near the pharmacies.

In my opinion, contacting the Tijuana police impound office would be best attempted only by an experienced attorney who speaks spanish fluently.

Firearms are a fast way to end up in prison in Tijuana .

I'm guessing you work for the FD.  I was trying to get hired before San Diego's hiring freeze.  I can think of a lot better things in life than, getting woken up at 3am to cut some drunk out of a car that has just plowed into another.
As I am sure you have seen way to many times, the drunk driver manages to live while the person(s) he hit don't.
Now, this isn't to say I wasn't a dumb a## in my  younger years.
Just thankful I didn't cause any accidents.
I can't even imagine how hard it is to explain to someone's loved one, they won't be coming home.
