You asked a question: I understand all (or most) regions have a M&G coordinator. Is there one for Boston?  If there isn't one, who gets to anoint a new coordinator?

So, I read this awhile back and thought about the question at hand.

First, I feel you might need some history.
When I first moved to Boston there was a couple of providers that decided to throw a little "get to know each other party". It was pool-side cocktails and hanging out at a very nice hotel in the summer. Too bad for me that I was out of town and missed it.
My understanding thereafter is as follows:

Women wanted to get to know their client-base better and make friends with other providers. So Vicki N. and Mel L. decided to throw another party. Some people went and my understanding is it was fun.
Next they threw a provider only party that I was able to attend. Well plannned and much fun!
Vicki N. then announced that she was throwing another, more wide spread party in October. Two days after she announced, sadly, she was moving away and requested some other ladies take the party over. I was named on that list. So 5 of us tried to pull it together. It was quite a struggle and people faded out and gave up. I continued to screen and find a place. I looked to fellow hobbiests as well for help. I wanted Vicki N. to feel that we did her justice in attempting to preserve what she had started.

Well, we got it together and it was great fun. Lots of CD jokes and a Mod showed up as well. It was very small, as people were skeptical of being in public.
The next M and G was that following Spring, I think.
People were requesting I throw another one after they heard how discreet the first was...
I discussed it with some friends.
Again, like before I made a board and screened people personally. With the help of others we found many ladies and gents who wanted to be involved. We invited all the local ladies and agencies.
We actually had several out of state agencies and Indies come. It was very exciting. There was a wonderful turn out from multipule states on both sides. We took over the entire side of the bar without drawing attention to ourselves. My overall feeling was we did a great job of picking a place, people to invite, and a great cover story. PM me and I can explain that.
Moving on...
Then there were some gentlemen only that decided that they wanted to throw a M and G. So using people who were pre-screened from our other boards they were invited to join a new board. Then they went on to discuss what ladies they would like to invite, within reason. Keeping a M and G on a reasonable level of attendees is very hard. From what I understand it was rather amazing and spectacular. There was an even turn- out on both sides and much entertainment. I was invited and wished to join them. However, my real life did not allow me that gratification. lol.

So oldrednose, if you see a pattern then it is a good one. It is one of collaboration between all parties. Hobbiest and Providers can come up with a date and throw a party together in collaborating or otherwise... Or they can all do it together.
You don't need special friends or be part of a special group. You just need a desire to get many people of all backrounds together for a good time and friendly meeting.

This is what has made for more and more successful M and G's in Boston. I always reccomend that everyone is screened and various other things.

My suggestion  (To You) is to ask some others if they want to throw one with you. I am sure the answer will be "We will all pitch in!"
As for a set person or nomination, no there isn't one. In fact, that seems to be a more common thing in DC than anywhere else that I know.

I do hope this helps for I only have the best intentions and wishes for another successful M and G in Boston! I do have the personal feeling that these things are best handled b/c and not discussed in a public fourm. Hence the board by invitation only. This is a remaining common thread that the founders started that we all stayed with. It is safe and contained. I am forever grateful to those ladies that started the M and G's that way. Feel free to PM me if you think I might be able to help in any way. I love this community and a big fan of supporting it.

I hope you try to set one up oldrednose!
Good Luck!

PS: If I am mis-stating or incorrect about anything please post it. Like I stated, to my best recollection, not my perfect memory from over a year ago. ;)

Great people and city. I just think that it was the more positive thing to do. Inform others and then they may pass it along right?!!!
Kiss to you cat! We will have that lunch some day, promise.

Honey,
I am a retired bobbyiest/provider.
There are many people who would be happy to get involved in throw one, just put it out there. Just remember it is a lot of work.

AR has over 50 reviews, isn't that real enough?  WTF are you asking for, be more specific.

I thin that was in reference to HONEYDEWS wanting to start a M&G with me. Asking for an established reviewer isn't unreasonable.
