The date is still set for June 7th, it will be an afternoon until morning event.
There will be food, games and entertainment (fire dancers and maybe a burlesque troupe)

I am spending a large amount of my own cash to make this party happen. It is in a private home and there is 5 star catering, fire dancer/ acrobat entertainment and tons of games as well as accommodations or limo rides home for those who may get too inebriated.
Therefore I want the people at the party, to be friends of mine.  My party - my rules.

Ladies in order to be on the list, please give me your board handle and website if we have never met.
Gentlemen in order to be on the list, I need a working telephone number, your email address and place of business. Also please give me your hobbyist handle and at least two references from providers you have seen before.
From all those interested, I need your full legal name ..... and first born child lol(just kidding on that one) I know all my friends' full names. Already the majority of those coming so far, are truly friends.
The screening is strict to ensure the safety and discretion of our party-goers. Everyone goes through the same process.
As soon as I receive your information and can verify it, you will be sent an invite email.
I am asking for the gentlemen to donate at least $100 to cover the cost of food, drinks and venue.

hey hey, just my thoughts:
i understand "your rules your party" but from my experience a guest list of handles/alias's to check in and requiring everyone to bring id to prove age (or gawd forbid issues were to arise).

that being said, the party sounds great.
sounds very exciting!

If you don't know your friends' real names then they must not really be your friends!!

I ask for full names from my gentlemen friends in my screening process for rendezvous', so therefore I ask for them at a party I am spending my own money on. If I wasn't spending my own hard earned cash and it wasn't a private venue - it wouldn't matter to me.
But those who know me in person realize that I always create a safe and fun atmosphere to enjoy.

I don't care if it is not normal - neither am I and I would never want to be!!

Do you think the Elite and Celebrity parties let "just anyone" in the doors?? Nope you have to know someone or knows someone who knows someone to get in ....

I won't let just "anyone in" to my party!! You have to know me or be willing to be known!!
I have only had a couple female prospective invitees have an issue with giving me their real name and that is fine - they will miss out on the best party the west coast has seen in a while, not to mention networking opportunities ....
If I cannot get a good faith gift in the form of a real name then you don't get to come to my party.
This is not supposed to be like any other party  - hence the strict and required screening!!


What I'd like to know is why there is an issue letting each other know who we truly are?
I am willing to give the same information I request, to those that ask for it, so it is not like I have something you won't.
What can you do with someone's name without SS# and Birthday etc?  You can't get very far.

I find it sad that there is not enough trust in the world - especially in our hobby - where trust is huge for our businesses to succeed !!!

The invite list continues to grow in spite of a few who are wary of making new friends!!

again, i am well aware "your party = your rules" and totally respect and appreciate it. i am simply pointing out the concerns some/many/few/idk how many would have. i know i for one will be out of town on the party date so the issue does not apply to me so i am impartial. i have no opinion as u allowing/disallowing the legal name is your call and affects me none. my concern is that you will be spending a lot of money and few people will show. i just want to make sure you are aware that this could be a major deal breaker and result in a "cozier" party (which would be fine, i just figure more people means more networking).

i for one would go (if the date allowed) if there were a guest list with bouncer and require every guest to supply ID to prove age as well as have ID in the (unlikely, but gawd forbid) event of issues at the event.

again, i think it sounds great and i know its a burden dealing with all the replies and setting stuff up.

I am a newbie in this whole thing and reading around. I just read that whole thread and wanted to just tell you how amused I was and think haters just make us famous. You sound like a fun and awsome person and where I come from its hard to meet or know people like you. Too bad I am on the opposite side of the country or I would definitly be attending (upon your acceptance of my screening of course). I know it will be a great time and wish all of your guests well. Can't wait to read about it next week.
