Hey AH,  why don't you come sometime??   LOL   I usually have them every 3-4 months with a house party thrown in between sometimes.  But I do hear , "whens the next one, I am ready for another" right after I throw one.

Dear AtlMeetingOrg:
With respect to frequency of meet and greets, a good question to ask is how much does the landscape change with respect to new providers and new hobbyist on the scene? The meet and greets would certainly be critical to those providers and Hobbyist who would be fairly new to the Fulton County Hobbyist Association. Especially if they are just breaking in or have been active in the hobby other places but are new to the scene in Atlanta. Maybe you might want to put a percentage on it and say if there is a 20 to 30 percent increase in new providers then it certainly would be necessary to have a social convocation.
This would be critical because now they would get a chance to meet the leading hobbyist in the area and those who would most likely review them so they can begin to cultivate and expand their suitors. Also it is a chance for the providers to see how the hobbyist might differ in Atlanta from where they would be from originally. From there they would be able to come up with a strategy for marketing and advertising to put them in the best position to capitalize on the marketplace.  Finally I am also thinking that the frequency is important because although providers send emails to each other all the time for purposes of verification, they can be in one place where they can put a face to a name. This would be critical in the seminal moments of knowing who is who in a new environment.

Ahh,  what did you say?  Once a month, every other, quarterly?    Could you translate that in to Southern?   LOL  Wow, quite the man of words, very good.

But to an ol Southern boy, it seems as tho you mean as often as possible but not too often, related to new hobbiest and new providers into the areaIn so\\ JPW

I have a Spring, Summer, and fall in NY. I don't do a Winter Mixer because a snowstorm can ruin attendance and in NYC that can be very costly by not meeting a minimum attendance requirement.

Four sounds like a good number for Atlanta, but more then four could result is poorer attendance and more no shows. Not showing up for a M&G knowing that another one will be hosted in 4 or 5 weeks may be a disincentive. Knowing you have to wait 3 months would give me more incentive to attend and show up.

The Atlanta community would be the best to give you a solid answer since I am only offering an opinion from a different store front.

it seems to me that once a quarter would work........or............pick a few special occasions (St. Patty's Day, Halloween, etc......)......my two cents

I would say every month would be great maybe 6  weeks. However, if that makes your life harder then every other or every 3rd month would be good.

Jimmy, you do a great job. Thansk for being Mr ATLMeetingOrg.

Hey Partner,  They are always great events. I think a large reason for that is the "anticipation" of something special.  I believe no more than Bi-Monthly and no less than once a quarter feels about right. That gives is 4 to 6 events for the year.

every 3 months is a nice rotation. With a shorter frequency, planning would be alot of work.
But, since I've never been to one.. I don't know how much work is involved...
