Hi all,

Attending my first M&G soon and I was wondering if you could give me a little hint as to what I should expect and such a gathering.  Any tips (dress code, expectations, etc.) would be appreciated! Little nervous so want to make sure i have fun!

Thanks

Have fun!

Dress in a shirt with a collar and nothing written on it, jacket is optional, good slacks or chinos, no jeans.  Also wear leather shoes and socks.  Take it easy on the cologne.

Instead of asking people on this board that do not know the particulars of the party you are going to, I would suggest a short email to the host or hostess and ask for their recommendations.

Go and enjoy!

I'll disagree with mrfisher on the dress code. I wore a Zegna blazer, white shirt and True Religion denim to the last m&g. Oh and no socks with a nice pair of Tod driving mocs. Bottom line, don't wear what you wear to cut the lawn or go bowling. And bring cash, you never know what might happen after the m&g.

a pool party.  Think of a M & G as any other cocktail party.  Guys attend to meet ladies, ladies attend to meet guys; the only difference is there is $ involved in a date afterwards whether it be that night or several weeks later.

Some hosts will share the list of ladies attending.  Sometimes guys will set something up for afterwards; other times, just play it by ear.

The biggest advantage is you are meeting the ladies as they are; without any photoshop assistance or 3-yr. old photos.

Relax and enjoy.
