Garner passed away yesterday at age 86. He is best known to today's generation for his role on "The Rockford Files," but I grew up watching him  in the role of Bret Maverick. Great actor and gentleman.

I was really rooting for the blind English P.O.W. and Garner's Scrounger character to make it out of Nazi Germany.

Fact that he was a real life war hero also can't be overlooked. Someone was also just talking about the Rockford Files theme song last month on this very forum.

of the few movies where I actually liked Sally Field.
