Is this normal practice, LE sting, or just innocent mistake???

Have been wanting to see a fairly well reviewed indy provider said to be UTR type in Columbia. After filling out appointment form several times on her web site without any response, finally set up an appointment on a Friday afternoon. Then 2 hours before the scheduled appointment, got the address to a nice 3 star hotel from her. Because the traffic was much better than expected, told her will be there much earlier. Then got message back telling me to text to a different phone# when I get to the hotel. After I got there, was told she will be ready in 10 min. Then 3 min. to appointment time, was told via text she gave me the wrong hotel from the day before, and I need to go to a different 2 star hotel that seems to be for extended stays . Since I am from out of town, did not have direction for the new address, by the time I can figure it out, already over 20 min.after appointment time.. Considering the additional 10 min. drive time, I finally decided to call it quit because: 1) I have a flight to catch later, did not want to risk missing my flight because of this delay, 2) having read so many busts in MD on this board recently, this started to make me nervous with the phone switch and hotel switch whether this is a LE sting.

Since this never happened to me before, wanted to hear from other folks whether this is extra precaution by the provider and typically how it is done, or LE sting, or she just made innocent mistake with frequent hotel changes?

She should have never told you the hotel the day before. Sort of strange that she would down grade the hotel, considering that Howard county has been hot for sometime. I have noticed that LE in Howard County does actively patrol the hotels. I have seen them drive around on the hour and 1/2 hour at various hotels. I have seen some of the ads in Howard county and very reluctant to take one for the team. Other ones I have seen because the was clearly defined in terms of prices and services.

I know a few switched some hotels last week. It would be interesting to compare notes(via pm) to see if it is the same hotel she moved from. (you can cut and past my alias to send a pm).

I will tell you this the 2 star hotels are being actively watched and many hobbyist have been busted at them from street walker stings.

It is time to pick up your ball and go home. When it comes to giing your personal info and refs, you do your part. Then when they start this crap of making you wait, playing the wrong address game, and apologizing for stinking of cigarettes, sweat and bad breath, it is time to hit the road. I usually give a grace time of 10 minutes. The wrong hotel is inexcusable. I don't think it was a LE sting, just an incompitent provider or booking agent. You did the right thing leaving. If you don't want to out her publicly then please send me a PM.

To clarify, she sent me the hotel on the day of appointment, but later said she made mistake it was the hotel she stayed the day before, so I need to go to a different one at the last minute. As I am not frequent user here, so I only have basic membership, cannot read & send PMs. Is it allowed to post hotel names & the provider on this board?

Since I only have basic membership here, cannot see & send PMs. She is actually fairly well reviewed provider, and made it to cdw27's short list posted on this board on 8/22/2012. That's why I wonder whether this normal and happened to other folks.

Thanks for the clarification. How in the world do you forget the hotel you are staying out ? Women are in the hobby are meticulous about details about where they are staying at, etc. Sounds like you did the best thing to bail. It is best that stuff like hotel/provider names not be posted on the board because LE reads this board.  Seriously you need to consider purchasing VIP.

In my opinion, the most likely explanation is that she had some kind of planning failure.  It's highly unlikely that you were told the truth.  Maybe that's a deal-breaker for you; I've certainly walked out before when things weren't as originally presented... and there have been times that I didn't immediately walk away, and sometimes it worked out OK.

It's possible that she is working with someone who gave her bad info about the hotel room reserved.  It's also vaguely possible that she got to the hotel, found that the reservation was screwed up somehow, and had to go to Plan B on fairly short notice.  There could be a lot of explanations, and we'll never know exactly what happened.

In general, I think bailing out if your instincts warn you against something is a good idea, even if you can't put your finger on exactly what is wrong.  There's always next time, and it's better to just have to take a pass than to have a horrible experience.
