I'm coming to town for business and staying on the harbor. Looks like The Block isn't far away. Is it safe at night? I keep seeing posts that suggest it's sketchy. I'm okay with not being fancy, I just don't want to get robbed or stabbed.
Definitely sketchy, but there’s a police station one block away. Lots of hawkers outside the row of dive bars trying to call you in. These are the bars where you buy a girl a drink, she offers to take you downstairs for sex. There’s also Larry Flint’s Hustler Club and Ritz Cabaret down there.
Odds of getting shot or stabbed are minimal, but you always have the feeling that if you walk out of one of those bars hammered, you would get rolled.
Safest route would be to Uber to the Hustler Club, have the driver drop you off at the front door. Get a feel for whether you want to explore or just head inside for a lap dance.
It has been a few years since I went there, but yes.....go in a large group....
The whole "block" is actually well-lit, but there are numerous vagrants/etc milling about. I actually parked on the road very close and didn't have any issues as it was on the main road and there were lots of other more expensive cars around me.
The Hustler Club definitely beats the pants out of anything that DC has to offer. DEFINITELY far better-looking gals. No trash.
I was taken by hand by the most fantastic looking Asian gal to get a lap dance. That has NEVER happened in anything DC has had. Heck, never ever seen an Asian gal in any DC club either.
