Somehow, I doubt it. If you screw up in Orleans parish, you are pretty much getting only 30-90 days because of over crowding. You screw up in J.P. you're getting the book thrown at you.
That sucks, but I know what you are referring to. It is the same around here. Even when people are convicted to state prison many of their sentences are reduced. It can really make a normal citizen lose faith in the system and i feel it emboldens criminals due to the lack of real punishment.
