Hello there, So I am planning to visit or maybe even move part time to California. If I choose LA, which areas are good for offering incall? If you feel its not good to post that here, perhaps you could email or pm me your opinion. I do respect everyone's safety and privacy, so forgive me if this is a sensitive question....

Most likely, I'd like to live away from the beach, since I have this snow-white Irish skin, and would like to keep it from getting burnt :-)

Another area I had interest in was Napa Valley. I saw a documentary that is is on the same latitude as Tuscany, Italy and the landscape is very similar. I lived in Tuscany a few months, so it would be lovely to be in a familiar looking place. Does anyone ever work in that area?

thankyou for your wonderful advice, Love Flora

Actually, if you are concerned about the sun, the closer you live to the beach the better, as the marine layer keeps it cool and the sun only is strong maybe July thru September.

As for Napa, the weather is similar to Tuscany, yes, but there isn't much of a population concentration there. The largest city in that area is Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. If you were visiting that area every few months, you might make some clients, but most of the people there probably go to San Francisco for their fun, and many of the people on vacation in Napa or Sonoma are with "family".

I am not aware of the Napa Valley being a location that would prove financially productive for a provider. The city of Napa and other surrounding cities are small. Great place to live but I don’t think you are going to get a lot of business. Mostly couples (I have taken many girlfriends) go to Napa. Once in awhile you will have a guys weekend. You are better off working in and around San Francisco.

Whether at the beach or inland, as they say, the sun is the same in a relative way... the beach in LA can easily be 15-20 degrees cooler than the valley or even W. Hollywood.  UVA rays, the most damaging, are the same regardless of weather and location at the same latitude.  I would personally opt to live on the westside, and closer to the beach the better.  Generally, rents are higher, but traffic can be better than many spots, such as W. Hollywood, Hollywood...

I agree. There is no work in wine country.

Hi Mimi - I live in th wine country. There is "some" work here :-O)
All the feedback on work in the wine country is on-point.

It's actually cooler nearer the beach. I'd look in Santa Monica, some areas (not all) of Venice and Marina Del Rey. All are pretty convenient for "incall." West Hollywood is considered one of the safer areas of L.A. probably because it has a large gay population. Sherman Oaks in the valley is convenient 'cause it has pretty good freeway access. Some ladies prefer Brentwood, again nice area and fairly safe.

All of the above are just one Angelino's opinion.
