YMMV

I've had a provider switched on me. She was advertised as being available but when I got there the girl who opened the door didn't resemble the girl who I thought I was seeing. Later when I got to a computer I saw the girl that I actually saw. Probably the original girl was busy enough and they let me see one of the girls who was not getting many calls. And I think if there is no chemistry with the girl it can effect your experience with her.

In recent reviews of two ladies, Jessy and Shine, in the 310 area code, you see wide ranging scores. In one case it was 6/6 vs 9/9, and in another, a 5 our of a sea of 8 and 9. One likely interpretation is that she happened to have a bad day. Another possible interpretation is expectation misled by mis-information, e.g., I heard from two that (a) one provider never agreed to swallow, but some guy callously inserted in the review; (b) likewise, another provider never agreed to rimming but was so listed. A third possible explanation, the agency put in a relief-pitcher for a lady out sick. This last scenario happened to me, but fortunately the substitue was very good.
Any more wisdom, from bad experience? How do you guage YMMV?

i naturally throw out the highest and lowest score...

i look for an overall average (not literally mathematical).  if a lady has mostly 8's & 9's with a couple of 7's, i assume she's 8-9.

if she's got more than a couple of 7's, and a few 6's, then i lower my expectation (and to be honest, i don't call).

the reverse is true, also, though:  if a lady has nothing but 9's and 10's, i'm a little suspicious, esp. if she only has a few reviews.  then i do my due diligence by pm'ing the reviewers and asking specific questions to see if (a) she really is top shelf and (b) she will fit my needs.

plus, one more consideration i take into account:  the strong possibility that the guy reviewing is just so happy to have a pretty girl paying attention to him that he rates her higher than i would (not that i don't love pretty girls paying me attention, lol!)

I think you got it right when you wrote: expectation misled by mis-information ...

I'm very suspicious of the first few reviews on any girl ...  often they are fluff pieces, more like advertisements than reviews.... "A booker I know told me about a new girl so I decided to check her out... wow... rush over there guys..."  ... you mentioned Shine... her first review is a 9 by someone who has never reviewed anyone before or since... her second review is a 9 but, he gives the impression you can't fuck her too hard or too long and she had a difficult time doing a bj... reading between the lines it sounds pretty iffy... when you get to her 4th review, you've got a guy going wtf? The girl turns her head away every time he tries to kiss her! ...

So here's what the dictionary says....

    shill  (shl) Slang
    n.
One who poses as a satisfied customer ... to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle.

IMO the TER system works beautifully --- it helps the best girls get the many customers they deserve, and makes it hard for the rip-offs to stay in business --- and vastly increases hobbyists chance of having a good experience ....   but ...  when you have shills writing inflated reviews it undercuts the system... in some cases, it may be the bookers writing the reviews themselves or asking English speaking friends to write them.... at minimum it seems advisable to read the reviews critically...

I'm sure there are more experienced TER guys who know more about the "shill thing" than I do. I'd like to hear their views on it. (previous threads?)

You pretty much got it figured out. Indeed , there are  relationships between some  bookers and some veteran reviewers that results in the Booker getting their latest talent hyped by reviewers who get to be among the first to see and review the new arrival.

While I could understand , but condemn, why bookers/agencies use all means to establish their talent ascquickly as possible ,  the practice undermines TER system and is a disservice to the community and solid providers who do not get the same hype , promotion or due as overhyped girls who rarely live to the hype.

is, 5 reviews or more before i even consider a lady...

also, i check each reviewer of a fewer-reviewed lady to see just how many reviews they have written.  odds are if the reviewer only wrote one review and that review is of a girl who only has one review, it's her pimp, er, i mean, manager.

Thanks for the reality check, Harpman. What about the one-off reviews? Where someone posts a 9 review of one girl then never posts again? Is that someone using an Alias? Or a booker creating a fake  membership to write a review? Or...?    .....   A related question: Is there someplace on TER that explains how alias posts work? I see them under  my TER/ my quick links / my Aliases, but have no idea how to use them. ?  I assume there are legit reasons for using an Alias, or TER wouldn't offer it...?

I usually do the review shortly after the nirvana, and boy, did I feel good!! So it's very subjective feeling of the moment. And I have to say that I am lucky that honestly every single provider I met was very good, even those I did not review (due to business or family demands.) One time even a last minute substitute was very good.
