I entered a writing contest and was just told today that I got the runner up spot!  Yay!

I won some very expensive lingerie for writing about the thing I know better than anything...love.

I personally am a hopefully romantic, and I love reading romantic literature. I actually read a lot, usually a book or two a month for leisure. I have to say you definitely have talent. I love the expressions and pictures and even the emotions you paint so vividly with your words. It's definitely heart felt and touching. I applaud your wonderful writing and I humbly thank you for sharing your enduring piece of art with us. You are as beautiful as you are on the inside as you are on the outside. The world is a better place for it!

I know without fear of contradiction that I never inspired anyone to those heights of prose! I am envious of the object of those sentiments. Beautifully written, and whoever they are, they are a lucky person.

....one day someone points it out to us and says "hey, ur really good at that, u have promise, stick with it"
and moves us to step back and examine what it is we've created. Then its like a completely new revelation,  and we begin to recognize this gift and say to ourselves 'ok, lets see where it leads....' and do you know where it leads?

It doesn't lead anywhere.

Why? Because talent doesn't lead, Alyssa, we lead it. It can't take us anywhere, but we can take it as far as we choose to, anywhere we wish to make it so. ....

I think the hardest part is doing just that.....taking the initiative to move forward towards a life and path in which our full potential is realized. We say its everything we want or dream about, yet most of us run from it because we're terrified of our own success. You, however, chose to take that hand waiting....hang on to it, and use it to pull yourself out. Forgive me for sounding all deep and weird in all this, lol, but i think as you're reading this, you know exactly what i'm saying to you.

Congrats on your achievement, Alyssa, and many more to come.....so keep em coming.
