Though I live in LA, I personally like the Viceroy, in Santa Monica when neither party could host. It's range is a bit higher then you are quoting, but if you keep watch, you can catch a better rate there once in a while.
The Chamberlain in West Hollywood is a real nice, quite place too, and is in your price range, with a few dollars in your pocket to spare. Forgot what the door policy is for guests though.

I'm heading to L.A. for work next week and trying to decide where to stay.  I want the option of entertaining a nice young (or mature - I haven't decided yet lol!) lady and wonder if anyone out there has any recommendations for hotels that would be nice but discreet.  The last place I stayed in West Hollywood was very nice, upscale, etc., but they required that any visitors be announced.  Meaning, I couldn't invite anyone up without the hotel desk knowing or actually coming down to meet the person.  Kind of inconvenient!

Does anyone out there have a good "hobbying" hotel recommendation?  I can spend $350/night or less.

Thanks!

Four Seasons Hotel,  Westlake Village.

I know the Four Seasons is also a good one.  I also like L'Ermitage and the SLS Hotel (which has The Bazaar downstairs - fantastic restaurant!).

Have fun!
