I recently saw an ad for a girl that is obviously changed her name. I respect her privacy on the one hand, for she may have been stalked or something... But don't we have a right to know if a provider has used another identity in the past... Especially if it was the source of some controversy?  Vetting a providers reputation is sort of the point of ter?  After all, the hobbyist doesn't get to screen the provider, do we...?

Thoughts?

You're playing russian roulette and setting yourself up to meet a BSC stalker that will screw your life up the first time she runs out of her meds.

Their history is as important as our history.

You're right,  she may have been stalked, outed to her family, or gotten in legal trouble.  Outing her new name might
be very dangerous for her. Besides, if she's built up a good reputation using her new name,  then why would everyone need to know the name she used to use?

Have some compassion. Not everything is about "the
Hobby."

...provider wants to be de-listed so she can start over with a new name because she had some poor reviews.  She tried changing her name once but it got linked in her profile to her first stage name.

I know a few girls that have changed their stage name, and none of them liked having to do it.  They try and work around it if they can.  Providers work hard on their reputation.  A girl just starting out may want to change her stage name as she learns the business and has to get past some bad reviews.  So what?  Maybe they just decided they didn't like the original name they picked.  Some move to a new city and want to start over.

Sadly, too often it's because some douche bag outed her real identity trying to be awesome and show everybody how much he knows.  Very uncool and a sure way to get on everybody's DNS list.  It's not uncommon it's because something else bad has happened and they have no other choice.  Thats a hard decision because they basically have to start over and lose a lot of business and reputation when they do.

I don't think it's anybody's business why a lady chooses to change her stage name.  My friends that have done it always clue me in.  It certainly isn't anybody's job to out her and spread it around, which as another poster said can be dangerous for her.

As far as verifying a lady, that's what TER is for isn't it?  I think we should just leave it at that.

Many provider's are changing their names in attempts to hide from their past reviews & other's are attempting to start new.  TER is a reputable reviewed community, so when a provider who has been well known thinks she can start fresh by changing her photos & reviews we feel this is unjust.  I personally do not think it is right not to link your old reviews to your new name.  If you feel the same report a problem.  I have reported several providers who attempted to ditch their old reviews.  I received plenty of pm's & I don't care about your personal problems because I am honest with my family, so I am not hiding anything.  I have been in this industry for over a decade & it is never easy.

Riped people off, drug addicts and got called out, had pimps and got called out, or just got cough doing something stupid like propositioning a cop or maybe caught in a sting.  Very interesting topic since there are so many ladies that do it.  Sometimes the past catches up with them and you'll see the two names listed side by side in the reviews....But sometimes it doesn't.

My past names are linked because I requested they be.

Unfortunately for me I gained a very undesireable follower very early on in my career. My first name change came as a direct result.  My second name change came when I went completely independent.  Reviews were never a reason for me, my personal privacy and safety were though.

After a time I felt that linking my names was the best way for people who knew me before my "independence" could contact me.

Not all of our families or friends would be so accepting as other ladies may be.  Though I have some friends who know about this side of my life, many of my community based friends (those I volunteer with etc) would not be accepting whatsoever.

As was previously stated; its not always about the hobby.

The provider may have done absolutely nothing wrong or unethical; but get a couple of veteran hobbyists turned monger messiah’s, and suddenly the woman is being endlessly hounded and publically besmirched for not fulfilling these self appointed provider persecutors their jaded, chauvinist ideals and prerequisites.

Messiahs are often easy to spot. They revel in scoring 2 or more points below an already well established aggregate. They often bemoan on trivia that has little to do with "Appearance" or "Performance"; but insisting rather to whine about the latent smell of a cigarette, or that they can find the same for 60% cheaper at some K-Girl’s sticky floored bull pen. Though often fiscally successful and secure; Monger Messiahs are commonly addled with OCD, narcissism, and callus insensitivity; and are frequently inept or socially retarded in general society.

I agree, very disturbing that one provider would do this to another provider, especially as she says she has been in the business for over a "decade". Shame on her, she should know better. Putting a provider's safety in jeopardy is never, ever right.
