LAX area is good and many gals use airbnb but remember alot of them have cameras hidden to protect there stuff.

Hi everyone, I am planning a tour to LA later this summer. I have been there a million times but can't decide in what area I want to stay that will be convenient to host (providing it's safe then, of course).

What are your hard "no"s when it comes to visiting a provider? Are there certain areas that you love or hate to go to? What freeway is the best to be off of? Parking? Other amenities or anything else you want to add?

I am not new to hosting in LA - the issue is that there are SO many great accommodations available that I'm having trouble choosing! I am hoping to have someone chime in and help me narrow it down a bit. I'll be there about a week so I was thinking of possibly also spending half in one area and half in another.

You can also DM me!

Thank you!
Callie

NO:  Downtown is a pain.  3 of the biggest freeways running through LA converge in downtown.  Sounds like it should make downtown accessible but in fact it makes downtown traffic bad 365 days a year.  Not to mention when you get there it's a maze of one-way streets, bus lanes and parking lots that cost a fortune.
NO:  Pasadena or further East.  Edge of the known universe.
NO:  Sunset Boulevard hotels. Usually valet parking only and street parking is impossible.  Also terrible traffic most waking hours.
YES:  West Side, Santa Monica, The Valley, LAX (although some of the hotels there require a card key to get to the room), Marina Del Rey, Beverly Hills, in that order.

Hope that helps.

west LA - LAX - culver city .- century city -west wood .. these areas are close to $$ guys ..  stay away from west hollywood and hollywood ...  besides LE   traffic and parking a pain and time consuming.

downtown is a different market .. can be ok but limits your clientele

I would suggest Torrance or Redondo or even
Manhattan Beach if not a nice hotel in El Segundo off the 405.  You should ask AndreaSugar for suggestions! She is the LA guru concierge!

Thank you! Very helpful.
And yes, we have been in touch ;)
