In ancient Greece there were famous "Hetairai"(may be different spelling)  
In ancient Greek society, Hetairai were independent and sometimes influential women who wore distinctive dresses and had to pay taxes. Mostly ex-slaves from other cities, these courtesans were renowned for their achievements in dance and music, as well as for their physical and intellectual talents.  Aside of developing physical beauty, they cultivated their minds and talents to the degree that was far beyond what was allowed to average Greek woman .

Unlike most other women in Greek society at the time, Hetairai were educated. Τhey were also the only women who actively took part in thesymposia, where their opinion was welcomed and respected by men.

Hetairai also were the only class of women in ancient Greece with access to and independent control over considerable amounts of money. Hetairai should not be confused with pornai of the time, who sold sex by the act and worked on the streets or out of brothels.

The status of hetairai was contrasted to that of prostitutes (πόρναι pornai), mistresses (παλλακίδες pallakides), and wives (γυναῖκες gynaikes).  

In the oration Against Neaera, Demosthenes said:
“We keep courtesans (hetaerae) for pleasure; we keep concubines (pallakae) for the day to day needs of the body; we keep wives (gynaekes) for the begetting of children and for the faithful guardianship of our homes"

I think both types of ladies, "Hetairae" and "Pornai" are present at TER.
I could guess most guys at TER are simply looking to meet type 2?
But there are some gentlemen who are looking for more than just physical act?

I'm an intelligent and fairly talented guy so that's what I look for in my women.  She also has to be feminine.  Think Natalie Dormer.  I'd take Natalie Dormer over girls like young Megan Fox/ Kate Upton/ Miranda Kerr, who are sexy but dumb as rocks and high maintenance.

I'm looking for good company just as much as I'm looking for a good time.  The two create a synergistic effect and make my time more enjoyable.  I'm not looking for a hole to stick my dick in; I have a fleshlight for that and it's much cheaper.  That being said, money doesn't grow on trees and being a young professional in LA, I can only indulge my vices to a certain point before ite not feasible on a financial and practical sense

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Now back to the topic ( a really good one ), there is a great little book, scholarly but interesting and readable, called "The Sacred Prostitute" by Nancy Qualls-Corbett.  Her approach is Jungian.  Great reading for smart folks like us!

For one thing, the term pornai you said was also associated with those worked on the streets.  I don't think street walker fits most ladies here in TER.  Back in the 1990's I made the one time mistake of taking a streetwalker in Las Vegas back to my hotel.  Never again!!!!  Granted she was attractive, but she had about as much discretion as a freight train going through the place and about as much class as a Baboon in heat.  Got that over with and got her the hell out of there as quickly as possible.

So I would say we are looking for both in a way.  Sure the reviews and ads support the search for something more along the lines of Pornai and that is more where it starts.  But we also want something more along the lines of Hetairai where we can also enjoy their company for who they are, how they think, and how they are as a person.  Their overall compatibility.  It is simply the reverse of regular dating for LTR where you get to know the person first then start sex.  In this case, you start sex first, then get to know the person.

My dear friend, in both posts I just asked questions. I never stated anything.  
I just want to know your opinion. If you get offended just by question, there is something that makes you irritated.
You have an inner conflict or guilt? Is that what cause your negativity?

If I would be a man ,  I would targets both groups depending on situation, my age, my personal life.

 I would avoid conveyer type for the physical health reasons.  
Just for sexual pleasures, you better off with some sex toys, it will save you from life threatening STDs, ten thousand types of papilloma viruses and throat cancer in the future

From being a healthy woman, my oxytocin levels are high,  so it is hard to be just physical without any connection

I think your post got that reaction because there is a wide range of ways to interpret it depending on one's experiences.  Men think differently than women so the initial search is focused on sexual wants, but repeating a visit would often require enjoying the company of the woman for who she is as a person.  

For me I quickly zeroed in on the term working the streets.  I remembered by error in my younger days I mentioned before.  In that case I quickly realized there was no way I was putting my dick in her even with a cover.  So it was hj then get her the hell out of my room.  She seemed a bit offedned but I didn't care.  I have never run into another lady like that again and hope I never do.  

That said, I did not find your overall post offensive, for me it seems a reasonable topic.  But I can see how others might look at it differently.

I believe that whether I was in ancient Greece or Today I would be involved with both types of women.
My preference however is to meet someone on more than just a physical level. So finding someone
that is both sexually and intellectually stimulating is much more exciting and satisfying than just a quickie and goodbye. I would rather see a "Hetairae" multiple times than several "Pornai" once given everything else being equal.
