I would move on.  She have proven herself to be incompetent in a manner that puts you at risk.

short version: a provider i haven't met but have corresponded with called me on my phone on the very day i specifically told her not to call me (because wife was home on that day).

this provider, who emailed me that she wanted to call me to talk before we met, failed to call at the time and date i set up, so i set up a second time and date...she failed to call that day either.

i emailed her twice, and pm'd her once, laying out specific times and days i was available, and the times and days i was not (ie, wife is home).  

so wouldn't you know it, she called today, the bad day, when wife was home.

this provider is highly rated and considered a premium...but man, if meeting her leads to dangerous phone calls, what the frak?  i haven't met with her yet, and i am seriously feeling like shining her on and severing all ties.

any thoughts?

Here is what I think, if you were the one who screwed up and didt follow through her directions, what do you think she would do???? I 'd say forget it and find someone els.
I tried and made 2 appointments with a very very highly rated provider who is on this board all the time, she stood me up both times. Now i would  not want to see her is she even offered to see me for free. ( not that she would do it)
Have some respect for yourself.

My thought is, you need a hobby phone. And it should never be anywhere near your wife. I keep mine at the office in a locked drawer, with a password lock on the phone. Anyone calls? No big deal. I'm the only one who ever sees it.

Flaky, unreliable, unpredictable providers. Isn't that the norm? Isn't that why we love them?  

I can imagine your mortification!  Jeepers!  I always assumed it was proper procedure in this industry to only call when a hobbyist says it's okay.  

If a hobbyist insist on talking to me before our appointment, "to chat before our meeting", I give a specific time.  I rarely give out my number until last minute.  But 50% of the time, my phone will ring not even ten minutes after emailing my number and giving a specific time.  That usually sends HUGE red flags for me.  I immediately cancel the appointment and block their number.  It's inconsiderate.  If the time I suggested was inconvenient for them to call, I think common courtesy, would be for them to tell me and give me some other options.  Now when they ask if we can talk on the phone, I ask what time would be good for me to call.
