Ever have the feeling that you should just bail, because everything inside you is flashing warning signals.

Last couple of days I noticed the website of a blonde provider in the SGV who bills herself as the best GFE in Pasadena. At a price of $250 seemed like it might be a good deal for someone higher end. She doesn't allow reviews but I had heard she was legit. After examining her photos I figured at worse case she might be little older looking than the late 30's age she advertised and maybe a little heavier than one might prefer but still ok.

She advertised that she needed a 2 hour notice to make an appointment which certainly isn't unreasonable, so I called her before lunch but got her voice mail. Didn't leave a message figuring I'd try her again after lunch. Called back at 1:30 and still got vm so I left an innocuous message stating a desire to meet up with her, potentially around 4:30 if she was free. So far so good, and in fact looking back this was the high point.

So a little while later she calls me back and we began to chat. She started off by stating that my number looked familiar and had I ever called her before. I said no but that I did call her before lunch but didn't leave a message. I called back again after lunch and left the message she got. In an accusing voice she says "no you didn't". "there is nothing on my caller id showing you called before 1:30". I said I didn't know why it didn't show on her caller id, however I did call her, got her voicemail but didn't leave one. She keeps arguing with me about it so I just tell her "Sorry, I don't know why it doesn't show" and tried to change the subject into seeing her.  She asks me "what made you decide to call me" so I tell her I saw her website and that I think I saw a review of her at some point in the past that spoke about her favorably. She says "No!". Again, I was like "huh?". "You didn't see a review of me, I don't allow reviews" she says in an irritated voice reminiscent of a third grade teacher correcting a student. Confused, I tell her that I thought I read something at some point a while back, maybe it was a review that was only up briefly before they took it down, or maybe someone just made a posting on a board or something. Whatever but I liked her website and thought I'd like to see her. So she keeps arguing with me saying there is no way that a review was up anywhere at any time and blah blah blah on and on and on. Finally I manage to get her off that kick by trying to refocus her back on the 4:30 thing, but started getting a bad feeling. She reminded me of this crazy older chick I used to work with who would always argue with you, over the most minor details.

She started talking about how hot it was outside, and she had the AC on, but it might be too hot to have someone over and she might be busy later, she has to check her other messages and blah blah blah blah... so finally thinking with the right head, and starting to realize that maybe this wasnt a great idea. So I tell her ok, let me know if the 4:30 thing will work for you. If not, maybe some other time. She finally sounded friendly and said sure and I figured that would be the last I would hear from her.

So walking away from the phone I actually felt pretty good. I was feeling like I didn't really want to see her because rather than finding her alluring in any way, I was really just annoyed by her and it didn't help that she sounded and acted like this other older chick who I really didn't like. So I figured that was that, I'd never call her back and no harm no foul. Or so I thought.

15 minutes later I get a call from her at my desk, now she was all friendly and said she could do 4:30 after all. I was surprised to even hear from her, so I was like "Ok, cool. See you then. If I can just get an address..." She then interrupts me saying "Hold on, Hold on!! No address. This is my business...we do things my way". I actually thought she was kidding because she was so over the top and asked if she worked off longitude and latitude instead but she wasnt kidding. She tells me to just call her when I am part way there, and telling me not to worry, she won't just leave me hanging and that she is in a good part of Pasadena and I didn't need to worry. Confused, I ask if I can get the general area so I know where to aim the car and she tells me a pair of cross streets. Ok I say, I'll give you a call. After I got off the phone I seriously thought of canceling but she talks on her website about how she does preparations for a meeting and how its rude to flake on her, so I decided to just keep positive attitude about the whole thing and maybe things would work out ok.

Anyway, I take off work early and start heading toward Pasadena. I was actually running quite a bit early so I stopped at a wine shop near the cross streets she gave me to kill a little time (and see what they had) before I called her. Anyway, About 4:15 I hopped back in my car and gave her a call to tell her I was at the cross streets, and of course, got her voicemail. Figuring she was maybe in the bath or something, and already having gotten the third degree over cellphone calls not showing up on her caller id, I left a message telling her I was in the vicinity of the cross streets and just checking in with her. So I park and wait. About 10 minutes later she calls and I greet her saying "Oh hey, I'm at the cross streets and just wanted to find out where I should go". Again, I am jolted back to the alternate universe she inhabits when she says in a loud voice "NO! THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID!". My reply "huh?". She then proceeds to tell me that she didn't tell me to call her when I was at the cross streets, that she told me to call her when I left work (Note: she didnt), and since I didn't she assumed I wasn't coming and went to the bank instead. I carefully considered my reply and say "You know, I'm sorry for inconveniencing you but I really don't think this is going to work out and perhaps we should forget the whole thing". She actually sounded surprised for a second and then made what she probably believed was a snide remark about what she thought my profession was (she thought I was probably a film producer though I never said anything about that) and hung up on me.

After getting over my incredulity on this whole stupid waste of time, and how crazy this chick was, I was actually quite happy with myself. Most of us have been there, you know the situation. You have been following a scavenger hunt of calls trying to set up something, finally get to the location, the door opens and its not the girl in the picture, and the price that was agreed to, she knows nothing about and tells you that is only for half the time that was previously agreed to. In your heart you want to salvage the situation and make things work but in your head you know that once you give her the money you are going to find out that she wants tips to even get naked. And then the war between your dick and your head commence, usually with the wrong head winning.

I was pleased because even though my patience had been tested, when push came to shove I declined and did the right thing. I politely walked away.

What made it even better was that I opened the address book in my blackberry and within 15 minutes, I was in the shower with one of the cutest little asians in Pasadena. Afterward, I took the $90 that was left over from the $250 I had planned to spend on on Ms Nutjob and bought myself a killer bottle of wine and drank a toast in her honor for teaching me that when you get a bad feeling about someone, its best to trust your instincts instead of trying to be the nice guy and to trying to make things work.

Spending more doesn't necessarily get you a better time. Sometimes more money just gets you an extra scoop of crazy.

The fact that you actually put up with her abuse BEFORE you decided to ATTEMPT to salvage the date with this misandraiac  escort rather than with one of THOUSANDS of normal providers in the greater Los Angeles area leads me to believe that you were thinking with the WRONG head all along and that you got what you earned...and I don't mean the date with the Asian girl...I mean being the register and venue for her unprofessional behavior and verbal abuse.

I'd have been so pissed at myself for letting myself being treated with anything less than a respectful and professional demeanor that I would have...well, I don't know what I would have done...

BUT MAN, all the signs were there.  You should have bolted the moment she went near postal on you on your first call.  As far as I can see you set yourself up for this disappointment and I can tell you personally that I have learned nothing from your post other than to...as I always do...trust my instincts and cut my losses early.

I really appreciate your story!  Great lesson for those who get caught in the "little head" leading the "big head" scenario, and glad your common sense took over.  I see so many reviews with guys showing up at not-so-great-scenarios, and having the inability to walk away due to their desires.  Then they go through it and feel like crap afterwards.  NOT worth it.

Wow! Project much? I don't usually get into any kind of drama but it looks as though I am forced to defend myself. I didn't argue with you about reviews. I was simply questioning where you had seen a review because I am not comfy with them. Secondly, I was attempting to strike up a conversation with you because I look for those I will be comfortable seeing. Third; you were being pushy in attempting to get an exact address and talking over me while I tried to explain why. I will admit that at that point I was a bit short. I have my reasons for wanting you to call me before you leave. It is actually for the guy as much as it is for me. In case something happens and I cannot make it on time, I want someone to know that before they make the trip.

I won't name the "lady" purposefully because of her desire not to allow any reviews. I may think she is a nutjob but I will respect her privacy. Whatever her name may be, I have no reason to think she is a ripoff or a thief. She just didn't come close to the level of service she claims to offer and in fact was one of the worst personal interactions I have had with a provider. Occasionally, I've had people act like assholes after I gave them the money but never before. LOL. The only thing I lost to her was a bit of patience and a few brain cells.

That doesn't mean I can't give a generalized warning to my brothers on here who I assume are looking for a higher level of service and might be mislead if they were to stumble onto her website and read her claims to be accommodating and her definition of GFE.

In retrospect, the lady's dislike of reviews makes perfect sense. If I treated people like that, I wouldn't want to be reviewed either.

He and the other characters would not let themselves waste time and sanity like this guy did. They were smart and knew exactly how the world worked. And they had a good time and enjoyed the good things in life.

Here's how the provider world works, John. These girls give us beauty, good personalities, and great sex for an hour or more. We pay them money and don't have to go through any problems.

Things are sometimes much clearer in retrospect than they as you proceed through them sequentially. The signs were certainly there but the question is how you interpret them.

You are right though, at the beginning I was thinking with the wrong head. I had already decided to see her before I even called her. I typically don't call someone unless I have already made a decision that I want to see them. Usually it is with someone who had a track record of good reviews and there is little uncertainty. In her case, I was mistakenly comfortable that I had access to info that sufficiently removed the uncertainty.  Then its simply a matter of putting the deal together. In my work, I often am in the position of putting deals together and sometimes dealing with odd personalities who are motivated by things that act against their best interests. Interpreting their motivations, not letting personalities get in the way and figuring out how to do a deal that benefits everyone is what I do.

She was certainly acting against her best interests. I thought the most likely reason for this at first was because she might be concerned that I was LE and she was exhibiting this by being overly suspicious about when I called and how I had heard of her. I responded to this by trying to reassure her that I was ok and she was misinterpreting things. (Keep the deal on track and don't let personalities get in the way) That made more sense than what I finally realized, which was that she was nuts. I don't start off assuming people are crazy because most people aren't. I figure if they are acting in a way that seems to be against their best interests, there must be a reasonable explanation for it, even if it doesn't make sense to me at the time.

My mistake though, was being focused on the wrong thing and too slowly coming around to the right thing. I was focused on making the deal work. Not whether a deal should be made. I was also treating her with respect and trying to be a nice guy. In retrospect, way too nice but I'd rather err on the side of being polite to some people who don't deserve it, than to be accidentally rude because I misinterpret someone.

It was during our first conversation that I started to question if I really should be trying to make the deal or not and thought when I just hung my hat on the 4:30 thing and ended the conversation that it would be over in a nice polite way and I'd never hear from her again because it seemed like she didn't want to see me. I was too polite. Still, at that point I thought she was misunderstanding me and had rational reasons for being so standoffish, but I was giving her too much credit.

My message (other than as a coded warning to my brothers about this provider) is to be more trusting of your instincts and that you are the consumer. There is no shortage of wonderful ladies out there and you are usually better off passing on a deal when things don't seem right up front than following the desire to "make things work" because you feel you have sunk cost you need to justify by finalizing things. Be less afraid of walking away and not doing someone that day. In my case, a better option was only 15 minutes away and it came paired with a "free" $90 bottle of wine.

I was slow to come around and was trying to be polite. I shouldn't have been so slow to refocus and I shouldn't have been so focused on making it work with this particular provider. A step back and reassessment of the situation is always a good thing when you find yourself in a position different than you expected.

First let me start by saying I was not asked to post here nor have I seen Sheri.  I have talked to her on another forum and have known her for 3 or 4 years.

  I also am not a white knight so you all can refrain from assuming that I am.

  To start off with here is a little snippet from something written about the name he has chosen "John Galt is the name of one of the main characters in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, which is a rather thick book about how individuals should be able to do things the way they want to without answering to society at large."

  One would guess that this would speak volumes about the character of someone that takes on a handle/persona as such.  Yes our handles sometimes reflect who and what we are.

  I have read details of this encounter and its a he said / she said.  Knowing Sheri as I do I tend to think her account of what happened is most likely truth or closer to the truth.  Some guys in this hobby want it their way and no matter what is said to them they still do not follow instructions... I hear this all the time.

  I also know there are high volume providers that over book appointments leaving guys hanging out in hotel parking lots, bait and switch and some out and out robs.  That is not the type of provider that Sheri is.. she is particular about who she does see and some of her policies are in place for the safety of herself and the gentlemen that she spends time with.

  Sometimes overly aggressive behavior on your behalf raises red flags too.

I've talked to a couple of ladies who went crazy and suddenly talked to me like I was a 3rd grader who needed a rapping. Once I was just outside her place at night and couldn't see the address and she just went postal on me and refused to see me. After me driving 2 hours to get to her. Sometimes I suspect they don't know any better and just want to get out of an appointment. The thinking is they can afford to mouth off to any random potential client because they get plenty of calls at the time. Happened to me another time. But I tried again (haha) after half a year. and I didn't mention it at all. At the end of the session she had realized I was the client she had hung up on while I had already drive 2 hours to get to her the first time and apologized. They realize I'm one of the nicest (too nice) clients.
But now if faced with your exact situation, I would have already called it off when she suddenly changed to that crazy accusatory tone on the phone!

No, you just gave out enough information so that most could figure it out through the process of deduction. Why else would you post it as a warning? You may think that you are slick in attempting to speak like a politician but one of my degrees is in science. This means that I have been trained to think analytically. I'm sure I am not the only and since one person openly guessed correctly right off the bat, it appears that I am correct.

Just as you twisted the truth on the original post, you again attempting to twist the reality of what you posted. Perhaps the type of women you enjoy seeing are not capable or do not care enough to see through this sort of thing but I don't like those who attempt to play games. Life is too short to deal with these sorts of games and I for one do not play them. You attempted to play a game with me when you did what you wanted to do though I asked you not to.
