I'm looking for advice on where to stay on my upcoming visit.  When I stayed in the LAX area many ladies would not travel to see me.  On my last visit I stayed in the Santa Monica area but the hotel required a passkey in the elevator and seemed very unfriendly to the hobby.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The motel 6 in Hollywood is pretty tolerant as long as you make some basic effort to be discreet. We used to have "after parties" there.. only time we had a problem was when one gal was screaming "FUCK ME!" so loud 1/3 of the floor called security (the other 2/3 of the floor gave her a standing ovation).
But parking sucks...

We've also used The Ramada West Hollywood for after hours parties... Security didn't bat an eye when we (a bunch of costumed freaks) showed up at 1 am to check in.

If you are calling around, I would avoid staying at motels where the staff is Indian or Pak (aka Patel Hells). The Patel Mafia HATES the hobby, and they watch who goes in and out like hawks. Its a real mood killer to have Apu screaming at you thru the door.

There's lots of hotels in Santa Monica.  I know they all don't have secure elevators that require passkeys.  Call ahead and ask.

I saw a provider at this one. http://www.oceanviewsantamonica.com/  No problems walking in and taking the elevator.

West Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills seem to be the most 'hands-off' with regards to monitoring who is or isn't having 'company.' There are a lot of 'hot to trot' types who frequent hotels there who are in all forms of the entertainment industry, so most staff don't want to risk mistaking a celeb/reality show type for a working girl. It's harder (for them, at least)to tell the two apart ;)

For Santa Monica, just advise the women you call to dress business casual and to be very discreet. It may also help to have a drink with them  in the hotel bar after meeting them in the lobby before you go up to your room.

LAX area is a bit like the wild wild west and staff, security, and even other guests can be very, very nosy at times. Can't advise much other than to always appear comfortable and to exercise discretion, as above. Other than that, read hotel reviews and go for the bigger, anonymous hotels and pick your room wisely!
