Read an interesting article where facebook is using location as one factor in suggesting friends, so if you share anything else - common friends (think seven degrees of separation), kids at the same school etc. you may just be seeing that person again as a facebook suggestion.
Gentlemen I can honestly say that sharing your contacts with Facebook is even more dangerous, I am careful to have different worlds and NO Facebook because it just gets too scary, but if my email is in your phone for example and you share data with Facebook , it will suck it up
Try and be selective with what you share , because no matter how private your settings are they will still suggest people you may not want to show up Jodie
