I have heard of meet and greets where providers and hobbyists can get together and socialize... do these types of things happen regularly and how does one get invited

Yeah, same conundrum here.  Easier to justify a two day to a week absence than an overnighter...But still trying to invent something plausible

Hmm, that's a good question, and not a bad idea. I'm sure providers would welcome it they thought it would bring more business. having said that- do they have the time??
