A beautiful sentiment.  However, Memorial Day honors only the fallen warriors who died in combat.  We who served are recognized on Veterans Day in November.

Yes, we know the difference, coeur-de-lion.
It's for everyday and holidays including Memorial Day.
It's the thought that matters.

Quite frankly, I think most folks honor vets on both days.  At least thats what I see.  And thats really the way it should be.   Do u really think that Veterans Day only honors the living?  In the stricktest sense I guess it does.  But when I think of honoring Veterans, its both days.

Military Appreciation is a must for me.  I thank you all who have served the U.S.A.  I personally believe that U.S. Military, Wounded Warriors, & VETS deserve a discount.  Thank you!

To honor Vets on Fathers Day, too.  I was just pointing out the intent of the holiday(s).   On Memorial Day, I meet a few of my former comrades-in-arms and we toast the few that didn't make it.  That is the ORIGINAL INTENT of the holiday.  The great thing about maintaining our freedoms is that we can all celebrate how we want.
