I am hoping not to get blasted here.  This will be my first M&G and I wanted to prepare myself for what  to expect.  It sounds like it will be a good ratio of men to women so that there is not just a bunch of guys drooling at a few unlucky girls.  Since this hobby is part of my secret life that no one knows about, I will obviously be showing up alone.  It does suck to walk in somewhere alone.  I know a number of the ladies on the list so I am sure I will have people to talk to.  For those of you that have been to these events before, what is the uncomfortable level at the beginning?  As an outgoing person, I am not afraid to talk to people but with a ratio of 2 guys to one girl, you are going to end up at some point taling to a lady with another creep next to you and most likely more than one creep including myself (as a creep).

Any insights or strategies would be nice to hear.  Looking forward to the event either way.

ps, the ratio of guys to girls is better than 2 to 1, it's closer to 4 to 3 (or 1 1/3 guys to 1 girl), so you only have to compete with a third of a guy for her attention!

I think your forgetting what this about Your just get a look at the women before you call them and see them That you knpow what your getting before  you meet them thats it. Your not there to talk them for a long time if you see someone you mite like go talk them even if there talking to onthier guy We all know what were doing there. Have fun

Pm some of the providers that are going, after doing extensive research, of course.  Offer to pay them to act as though you are the mayor or a television celebrity.  Take no risks!  Or, have thugs capture the other hobbyists as they exit their cars.  Release them, of course, after the party, with warnings not to ever invade your social space.  I'll be thinking of more, these are good ideas!

For me, my first M & G was intimidating, but fun. It was intimidating because there were all these beautiful, sweet and friendly women, better than any other party no matter what the ratio. I was surprised how nice everyone was to me, even many of the guys. What helped me back the old days when I started going to my first M & G was the chat room. The chat room was much more active and I met many of the guys that I would talk to in the chat room.

Many of the guys would also answer many of the questions that I had about the hobby... Kinda the inside information...

My personal thought was to be sure that all the women are not bored and to be sure that they always have a drink in their hand. I feel it is important to make that all the women feel very welcomed, so they will return again (hopefully with their friends).

I think I will actually know 3 people that are going to be there. So while I don't know how nervous you are, I do know how intimidated I am. I have seen the list of attendees, and they are all beautiful women. I have to walk into a room of beautiful women who will be judging my shoes, hair and attire long before I say a single word.

Bonds meet and greets are well known for being very fun. His Co-Sponsor Kate is a doll with a list of accolades a mile long. I don't think either you or I could ask for a better ice breaker for a M&G.

.....that I am beyond fearful that I will run into a fellow hobbyist whom I just happend to know - I am not concerned about seeing former providers - but rather bumping into a fellow traveler who may turn out to be a neighbor and/or a colleague.  THAT would be extremely uncomfortable.

And yes - there is the old adage of "who's he gonna tell?" that he saw me there when what the hell was HE doing there.  But yet - just too dicey for my blood.

Or am I way over-thinking this sort of thing?

On a side note I was out with my wife 3 weeks ago and a provider I had just recently seen walked in.  We both had that slight bugged eyed oh shit moment but then we went about our respective business and that was that, but it too was off putting.
