I am curious if anyone out there knows when this term/acronym came into use as it is known in the hobby today? In the last decade or so, while I have sort of been focusing on other things, there seems to have been an entire shift in the provider world.

Back in the day, girls made a point of the fact that they did not kiss. That was something special they "saved for their boyfriend"
.
The entire concept GFE is one I much appreciate, and am taking advantage of whenever I can. But when was the tipping point where the concept came into being and became such a universal standard? I've tried google searching, but just get references to it's existence and definition, no history or initiating time line.  Seems to have been a part of TER as far back as I can search.

I know I'll probably get some snarky responses about doing my own research, but I don't have access to serious search engines like Nexus/Plexus, and I can't find anything through any of the usual channels.

Any historians on the recent history of the Oldest Profession out there? Inquiring minds want to know!

that topic. I remember the no kissing days. The lines I heard... kissing is too intimate, too personal and can lead to emotions. And there wasn't any way to share information with other guys.

My guess is the Internet is responsible for most of the improvement in terms of performance expectations, appearance expectations and safety. Also, the younger generations of women who simply think - whose rules are those? some kissed, word got around on message boards and it became the standard. Kissing probably existed with higher end gals and good clients well before the Internet days, you just didn't find them easily.

I first hobbied in the '77 - one time, a couple of times in the mid 80's and the no kissing, lack of pics left me not wanting to go there again. Late 90's the Internet pics!!! message boards!!! and they are kissing!!! I jumped back in and am hooked, not addicted as AR points out, just a whole lot easier to find what I like, when I want it! Yum!

Great link, thanks. No specific date info on the posting though. But it does seem that the term sprang up/was coined  sometime during the 1990's and was de rigeur by the time TER came along in 99. Thanks, again.

Just read "The Tipping Point" and it got my mind thinking in this direction...
