I opt for the pat down process, because

I have to admit, it made everything a LOT faster. I got through security in 2 minutes. Sweat registers funny though, so I had to have my back patted down

Not a fan of the idea really, but it does make things faster. And there was a male and female attendant available to do pat downs, just in case anyone is traveling and worried about this new scan!

With the current metal detectors, I walk right through and pack up my stuff at the end of the belt.  With the new xray machines, I have to pack up more stuff that was not metallic from my pockets on the front end (my ID, boarding pass, wallet and non-metallic watch).  When I get in the machine, I have to "strike a pose" as Madonna would say.  After the shot of my junk is taken I have to wait for the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain to radio the touchy-feely TSA agent standing near me that my junk scanned OK.  It is an extra 30 seconds or so but that adds up per passenger.

I am glad I never go on a plane during holiday weekends as that is "amateur night" to me.  I am not a crazed guy that is upset over it but it does make the airport experience a little bit worse.

since the last time i traveled, it did speed up the process for me.  Could have been just mere luck...idk..

I wish everybody would stop whining on the TV about how this discomforts us and inconveniences us.  We are fighting a war against terrorists, and our awful duty is to have some guy or gal pat us down.  Big fucking deal.  Our kids are fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan to fight terrorism, so shut the fuck up you whiney assholes on Olbermann and Madow and Fucked Noose about this awful affront to our liberties.  Go fly to Iraq and fight, and then tell me you can still kick and scream about a fucking pat down...

Get real.  This is a SMALL price to pay for safety.  Don't like it, don't fly.  Take a train.  Drive.  But shut the fuck up about how awful this is.  Damn, we don't even pay higher taxes to fight these damn wars.  SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Sorry to rant and rave at the TV whiners, but it is unbelievable, to me, that all we think about is our Tumi bags and our delays when our kids are out their dying....  RT Disgusted & Out

I don't think many people will agree that whining about screening and supporting our troops are mutually exclusive.  Of course, one can argue that promoting effective screening might help us in our fight against terrorism, but nothing in your post indicates that this is your argument.  Your argument seems to be that supporting our troops requires us to "shut the fuck up" about screening, especially because we "don't even pay higher taxes to fight these damn wars."  This is a bold argument with breathtaking implications for individual liberty.  I think your heart is in the right place, but I struggle to believe that you truly mean what you're saying.
