In the search by ethnicity, why are the Europeans sorted by English, French, Italian, Russian, Baltic, etc. while the Asians are not sorted by Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.?
I take it that means all Asians are the same, while the Europeans are all distinct. Right?

However, for a white dude I can usually tell if a lady if is from Japan, Korea, China, or Vietnam from appearance.  Not always, but about 80% of the time I get it right.  My favorite time was when I told a lady from Japan that I was surprised, she didn't look Japanese.  Then she said why....she was ethnic Korean.  She said the same thing, most white guys have trouble telling the difference, but other Asians sure can.

I agree they should break out the Asian categories more.

that each continent has dozen of ethnicities, so if they sort by every one, it's way too many.

This thread reminds me of a political cartoon I saw when Nixon visited China for the first time in the early 70's.  Chairman Mao and Chou En Lai were watching all the Americans come off the plane after it had landed.  Chou En Lai turned to Mao and said "they all look alike."

I'm British or I'm Dutch ( which is what I do) or German, Swedish etc, rather than European.  Whereas Asians advertise as Asian? So the system sorts them out that way? I least that's my opinion.

LOL, I remember that joke.  

The give away for Koreans tends to be that they have, on average, a higher more square shape to their cheek bones.  Japanese tend to have lower cheekbones and wider larger eyes than Koreans.  The Chinese are a bit harder because they have more ethnic diversity, but in very general terms an ethnic Chinese will tend to have, on average, a slightly rounder face than a Japanese and definitely not the cheek bone structure of the average Korean.    

There are similar differences between Russians and West Europeans, but as with Asians they are very subtle genetic differences that are subject to error.  Whenever I see a really tall, hot, blond lady my first thought is always Norway or Holland.....but I don't seem to be correct all that much.
