I've gotten a bunch of different emails lately to my provider addy from strangers claiming to be friends of mine who want to let me know about the DirectTV friends & family discount.
After my trip to Boston, I got an email from someone claiming to be hosting a private invite-only Los Angeles TER mixer at his bar.
The next paragraph states that in his "day job" (I guess when he's not at "his" bar), he works for DirectTV & that he wants to offer me his "friends & family discount".
No I don't believe that this is for real, but I wanted to give other ladies a heads-up just in case they think it might be a legitimate invite to a TER mixer.

The person you are referring to is DJ'ing the event I am hosting. He had asked me if he could send an email out to ladies inviting them to the party. So I ok'd, with the caveat that final decision for anyone requesting an invite still rests with me. Unfortunately, a lot of the ladies on his list were also on my master list. In hindsight, it was a mistake to do this. And the Direct TV thing was very unexpected.
Just ignore the email. If u wish to attend the party, just use the link below for info on the party and directions for an invite.
Ha ha . He told me I couldnt come because the list was full. Wow)) ooh but he would get back to me if anything opened up. ) Guess I had to buy the direct tv package
No problem. I just thought it was very odd since it was to my addy on Boston Eros (I have different addys for different advertising venues to keep track of my marketing), and I've never posted on the LA boards (or if I have, it was a long time ago), and a friend of mine in the Bay who doesn't travel & has never posted on TER got the same email, and like I said I've gotten *several* unsolicited Direct TV "friends & family" offers from different strangers.
Who knew Direct TV hired so many hobbyists & providers?
