Emotionally, Dodger stadium is a dump....

I'm going to have some alone time next week, and I'm looking for suggestions of things to do that don't scream 'creepy' or 'loser' ...

Any suggestions?

Of course, if you're similarly situated and would like to grab a drink, the first one's on me.

Not an L.A. native, so not a Dodger fan - I'm more of an A.L. guy, and an Angels game was a thought, but a bit of a drive...was looking to stay more local.

1st. Dodger Stadium is a Cathedral of Baseball...One of the oldest stadiums in the country...all fans should see it...Kings and Clippers are here also...and LA Live is something to see.

2. Venice Beach...Land of Fruits Nuts and Vegetables...You've never seen anything like it..Unique in the world.

3. Museums...Getty, LACMA, MOCA...some of the best collections on earth and beautiful spaces

4. Sunset Strip...Comedy, Music, Sushi and Tattoos...'nuff said.

5. Santa Monica's 3rd St. Promenade and SM Pier

6. History? Try Olivera Street...but walk over and eat at Philippe's...world's 1st French Dip.

7. Downtown? Check out Angel's flight and the market at it's base ( Name escapes me now)

8. Valley? Take Warner Bros. Tour, Disney Tour or check out Leno show

9. Dig Fish? Gladstone's at PCH and Sunset is great for oysters and a drink...Then cruise up coast to Malibu ..Stop at Cross Creek for some star gazing

10. Pick up sandwich ( Godmother..MMMMMm) at Bay Cities in Santa Monica and head to beach...It is LA after all!

and be sure to engage one of LA's finest resources, a lady from this board to show you around!

If none of these interest you then just head back to Kansas.... LOL Have fun!

DaBull - Thanks for these!

Of course, you would post about food at lunch, when I'm famished.....NOT HELPING, my friend...

I'll have to pick one of these food options. The oysters sound delish, and I'll agree with you on Bay Cities - I've been there, it's awesome.

I'll stay away from the beach, though - at least, until I have a beach-worthy bod.

The DODGERS true home was Ebbet's Field in Brooklyn -- this new place is a low class dive where only those desperate for some baseball experience would go.

That said, Da Bull is right on about everything else....

For the BEST sushi on the west side, ShunJi on Pico in SM.

For the BEST sex, try any of the delicious KGals on the TER menu....

Can't stand hotdogs or fast food, but once had a date who took me to a Dodger game. Nose-bleed seats(which I don't mind 'cause they can be fun too), but my fondest memory was the indescribably delicious Dodger Doggie(a GD footlong, no less) and the largest, coldest BUD I've ever experienced.  No love for BUD, but the icy-cold-yumminess, combined with the DD ruined me for any other sports event cuisine(a fond memory, not likely to be duplicated).
Now, my 0.2.  Sunday morning brunch on the Queen Mary, followed by or preceded by; live jazz and the WORLD'S BEST Bloody Mary's,  in the Art-Deco lounge. (Have one even w/out the alcohol, if you're the designated driver. They're THAT good!)  I can't recommend the ambiance, history and accessibility to other interesting activities more.
In fact, I've stayed there many times(New Year's, 4th of July, Halloween) and the history alone, is too divine.
Have fun in L.A. and be safe!

Dodgers are on the road next week. They don't come back home until the 15th.

Have you been to Dodger Stadium this week? The Dodger spent $100 million in renovations in the off season so is it still the "low class dive" you think it is?

And Ebbets Field, though long gone, is still the home of the Dodgers to millions of people.  I have been to Dodger Stadium many many times....takes nine zillion hours to drive there, then everybody leaves at the 7th inning stretch and drives another nine zillion hours to get home.  No more, no thanks.  When I visit NYC I hope on a subway, spend a pleasant 45 minutes with a car load of Yankee fans, hit The House that Ruth Built, redux, and find my way home with the same crowd on the same subway -- a pleasure.  Only a masochist would continue to fight his way to Dodger Stadium....
