So- I have a super hedonistic, indulgent fantasy of taking the ferry out to Catalina, getting a hotel for a couple days and seeing a few dates in between buffalo tours, ziplines and golf cart exploration. Has anyone ever booked a session with a provider working on the island, and what was the experience like? Ladies, have any of you ever worked there before? I have a feeling this may never come to fruition, but I thought I'd inquire before writing it off as ignis fatuus.

I have been to Catalina a few times with girlfriends, boyfriends, for a wedding and I think it’s great for a quick getaway. I agree with Carla, weekends, especially in the summer, are too crowded but if you can get away during the week it is great! I would recommend going with someone on a longer date, I don’t think it’s a “touring / working” type of location.

I have recently spent a long weekend there with a visiting gentleman and we had the best time ever. I picked him up at LAX, we drove to Long Beach and took the helicopter to the island. The hotel was lovely, they put together a customized activity package for us "photography enthusiasts" – it was perfect. We combined the outback tour followed by a beach picnic with some golfing, some diving, some hiking, some great dining, and a good massage during our 3 days there. We plan to go back to visit the Eagle and Fox habitats and do the zipline tour if I can gather up the courage – luckily we skipped those in favor of some private fun. PM me for details (about the hotel and programs, not the “private part”, lol).

Do not write it off even if you do not get much response. It's a great mini-vacation spot and you deserve to treat yourself.

I've been there many times, mostly to dive off Casino Point or on some of the local wrecks, but also to tour and once for a wedding.   It's a great place go play for a day or a long weekend.

I don't know that you'll get anyone to come out there just to see you for a short date.  The ferry ride out and stuff just to visit you in a hotel on the island, as amazing as you are, probably won't attract someone.   Of course, if you're going anyway, and if someone wants to make a night of it with you... you never know.   It can't hurt to try, right?  

I say plan the trip with a girlfriend, post it here that you're going and see who's interested.  If nothing else it's a fun weekend on the island!

Thank god I'm not the only one who know that song... and it was a bit before my time.  

I've seen girls working their during big (high dollar) Marlin tournaments. But then again there are always girls working at these tournaments wherever you go. I'm in Avalon all the time. Be sure to post. I would love to see you there.

I've actually been to the island once before; I was just trying to suss out whether there was much/any hobby activity to be found. Thanks to everyone for the responses and for the '26 Miles' song! Looks like Catalina will remain in my 'civilian day trip' file.

Some of the old places in the time of Zane Gray had a few providers.  Nowadays I do not think so.  Lots of small town talk and attitudes will shut that down.  Strong sheriff presence that changes frequently so not likely to be tamed. Easier to just pick up a girl hot to get laid the old fashioned way.   Only it costs us Lots of Booze at one of the many local bars.  And it's sure to be Hit and Miss.  I'd even hit a Mrs. (provided she was on vacation without the Mr.)
I too looked at this thread hoping to learn of who I could contact at the other side of the ferry ride for a simple good time.  Hope that someday it gets a reply from an active island gal worth finding.
