It's not just the k girls... most providers that perform bbbj have oral herpes. Oral herpes is very common.  I use to tell providers I see that perform bbbj that I have genital herpes, but most of them don't even care because they already have oral herpes hsv2 and perform bbbj anyway. Let me tell you the truth, once a provider catches herpes, she could care less about infecting her partners. From that point on it's all about making as much $$$ as possible while getting good reviews. If a client catches herpes, she will just say some other Ho gave it to you. Hobbyist like us see multiple women and it's impossible to pinpoint who gave us the disease.  The only solution--stay safe and cover up for everything

Mouth and throat cancer, called oropharynx cancer, used to be a disease seen most commonly in elderly persons. Tobacco smoking and alcohol use were known to be the leading causes of oropharyngeal cancer. Today, oral sex is listed as the leading cause of cancer of the mouth and throat.
New research, published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, demonstrates that human papillomavirus, HPV, is the leading cause of cancer of the oropharnyx in the U.S. The number of people diagnosed with HPV-related oral cancers in the U.S. tripled from 1998 to 2004.

and not to burst your bubble.  but most of the kgirls have mouth herpes.  couple of my exs broke out with them once every couple of months and would go on mini vacation to recover.  the girls don't go on vacation just because of their period.   but if it didn't hurt them they still worked and did CIM.

so STD is just part of the risk we all take.  and some seem to ignore all safety and seek that unique "service" no matter what the risk.  i for one will never understand why they are willing to risk their live for that "service" that will only last them what 10mins at the most before they cum.

Yeah! And going out to night clubs and just having random one night stands. Along with drunk, who knows maybe unprotected sex; Then wake up with someone you dont know. Or best you dont even remember. Thats the best thing to do. Just like cigarettes, and drugs cause all of kids of issues. I dont see it stop people. What I dont understand is IGNORANCE!

Wow

im not sure if your attacking me or just shouting incoherent nonsense.

i think what your saying is that non providers can also spread STD?  if thats the case i agree.

Regardless if your a porn actor/actress,one night stand, married couple into swinging, call girl or slutting around town. Sex has many pitfalls so to speak just test regularly and use condoms. If you have a suspicion about someone then pass on them. Adult film personel take many risk due to the lack of condom use on screen. They are tested though someone still can carry a disease and be a-symptomatic. One night stands are just horny adults getting hot and heavy from a night club, personal ad fling. Who's to say what adults do when their drunk and screwing around in the back seat of a four door car. Married couples take some risk too when swinging typically swingers nest at resorts or closed door clubs. How many are using condoms especially when everyone assumes were all married and or are clean? Call girls must use condoms especially when her reputation is on the loose and male rent boys prefer condoms if they are bi-sexual. If someone has a smelly discharge, visible sores, rashes or wants to risk a encounter for $$$$ then run. Now go get tested and always have condoms they do say save lives..

Everything on this world is risky, so, if anything should happen it's will.....
"Drink responsibly" , "Have funn responsibly" hmmmm :)

it's new to anyone who has not heard it before. Just because you may have been aware of it doesn't mean that people shouldn't continue to discuss it.

Honey i'm sorry but you got me in wrong way.

I understand what you are saying. This is just the most recent research on something people have been talking about for some time. In the past, though, most of the emphasis have been on how the virus affects women, at least as I see it, and on their genitals. This research just increases the awareness of the consequences of unprotected oral sex. Not that it is really going to stop me. :)

Get vaccinated! It's painless, inexpensive and very effecitve in preventing HPV.

How well does the vaccine work if you are over 30? They only talk about vaccinating young people.

Right now, Gardasil claims the title of the most cost-effective measure to prevent cervical cancer and HPV in undiagnosed girls and young women. *However,* the long-term efficacy of the drug is unknown, and the side effects of the series of injections have a death rate consistent with cervical cancer itself. Also, if you research the controversy of Merck's marketing/political ties (they somehow managed to get Gardasil on a list of school-required vaccines for 11 and 12 year old girls in a few very conservative states), they are pretty shady. Perhaps it's my distrust of Big Pharma in general, but I wouldn't give credence to a company that relies on marketing a drug for std prevention to pre-adolescents, especially when the substance hasn't proven its effectiveness in the long-term (various Merck researchers have said they don't know its protection/prevention reliability into a woman's 20's/30's).

I prefer being protected and getting tested on a regular basis.

~ Agreed sweetie!  However; just like anyother medication they all have side effects, risks ect... As long as you use protection and get tested all of the time. Which is only common sense. Besides, the media & doctors only tell us what they want us to know. Birth control, pain meds, anti-depresents, amongst so many other medications can cause death... ~ Just stay safe and have alot of fun!

Hi Amsterdam, Thx for your active involvement on the boards.  You mentioned playing safe and having fun, but isn't bbbj and daty. .. dfk as well, aren't those considered  unsafe practices?

I have a lot of distrust of corporations and most government groups because there are many examples of them lying to us or just being incompetent.

I've hobbied over ten years and at worst caught a cold. I've had provider friends who have worked gfe and helped get them tested and they were clean.

I'm thinking a lot of the news like this cancer hpv relevance is more scare tactic than truth.  This is my opinion. I'm curious on yours. Thx

If I may somewhat disagree with you, Harlowe, it is not unusual for vaccines to lose effectiveness over time. I've had to have booster shots every few years to guard against certain diseases, especially when I go overseas. I'm one of those old enough even to have had a smallpox vaccination and booster, but I doubt that I have any immunity to that disease after all these year (if there should ever be an outbreak someday!).

But booster shots are on the market for vaccines that are known to lose their effectiveness over time...  right now it is still unknown as to whether those who opted for Gardasil will need a booster or not, and it's not being marketed as such. I'm not railing against it as an ineffective drug- I'm just thrown off by the marketing and unknowns.

For some reason this conversation makes me want to watch 28 Days Later...  :)

I'm not sure how it is marketed, so I admit you know more about it than I do. If it is marketed as not needing a booster, and it does, then obviously there is something suspect about this. However, as it is a relatively recent innovation, I'm not sure anyone knows for certain who needs boosters or when.

I don't have a dog in this fight--I don't own any stock in any drug companies, and they do have a habit of putting profits over people. I doubt a vaccination would even help me at my age. I guess I'm reacting in part to the anti-vaccination movement in this nation. People have forgotten just how effective vaccinations have been for public health. I don't think that is your motivation, but any medical innovation has some unknowns, which can lead to death. But when companies sell a product that they know is defective, such tobacco companies promoting cigarettes, then I think everyone can agree that that is very wrong and should be opposed.

I need to go to sleep!

You make some excellent points, and I agree on the public health front, for sure! (I am definitely not anti-vaccine, and it's scary that we're seeing some diseases resurface that we thought had been almost wiped out!) It would be interesting to see the results of a tipping-point population vaccinated against HPV.

Overall, I hope this news doesn't make men shy away from oral!! ThAt would be a tragedy!

Gardisil is a current FDA approved HPV vaccine for both men and women under the age of 26.  I am going to assume most hobbyists are older than 26, so that leaves us with one logical choice, recognizing the symptoms of oropharynx cancer.  they are:

A sore throat that persists
Pain or difficulty with swallowing
Unexplained weight loss
Voice changes
Ear pain
A lump in the back of the throat or mouth
A lump in the neck

Just like any cancer early detection and treatment is the key to beating cancer.
