Hello Los Angeles hobbyists,

Something disasterous happened.  I lost my phone and all of the contact info I have accumulated for the last six months.  I'm trying to get as much of it back as possible one person at a time.  If I have had a chance to meet with you sometime this year after April, will you please let me know?  I'd like to get your information again.  Especially if you ever want a referral or if you would like for me to let you know when I'm coming to town.  This is such a huge bummer.  I bought a new phone 6 days ago.  It's extremely unlikely that my other one will turn up.  I was so dependant on my phone.  Everything was in the phone.  I feel so lost now when somebody calls.  The first thing I ask is, "do I know you?"
I appreciate your help if you can give it.

xoxo
Freya Fantasia

Sorry to hear that happened to you!

If you aren't familiar with it, google voice is a fantastic tool; it will sync with your android phone if you have one and I'm pretty sure it has an iPhone app as well. Best of all it's password protected so your contacts are secure on & off your phone (you can keep notes on your contacts as well, such as when & where you met them, which makes references a breeze). I love this because it keeps my clients' information doubly secure (as my phone is password protected as well).

If you need help, feel free to send me a PM! It's a great tool and in case this ever happens again you will have your contact info stored already. :)

Apple announced iCloud a few days ago.  If you have an Apple phone, you should look into it.  There are some shakedown problems right now, but they should go away.  David Pogue of the NY Times says iClooud is fantastic.

I hope you didn't lose your notes about grandfathering me in for life at $150.

Lookout Mobile Security for Android or iPhone. The lost phone tools are awesome. Log in to their web site and you can remotely lock your phone, wipe all data, and activate a screaming alarm sound that should be very annoying to the thief who took it. You can also see where the phone is located on a map, using the phone's GPS. And, of course, all your data is backed up on Lookout's web site, so you never lose your contacts, even if you decide to wipe the entire phone.
