Just curious what other people's reason are for being comfortable with providing detailed screening information.
I understand the arguments for why providers want (and even need) screening. What I don't really understand is the lopsided balance of information and the reasons for why a hobbyist would be ok with giving up a large amount of privacy. E.g., in many cases hobbyist are asked to provide full name, place of business, business phone, etc. On the flip side, the provider does not provide any similar verifiable info in return.
So the question is more of "why provide info" type question vs. "should there be screening" type question, particularly since screening is not going to ever go away. It seems like the number of problems that could arise from the information being abused is very large.
