Most of us have spent out lives with the reality of sex in exchange for money, which is illegal in most of America. However, most of us have never been caught or punished for the illegal acts of pleasure that we frequently practice. Of course, “the devil made me do it” is just another way explaining away our sex drives that repeatedly puts us into situations that only an idiot would entertain. Ok, so I like you am an idiot!

What are the real chances of getting caught? Here is some information published a few years ago by Washburn and Sheehan, reporters for the Chicago Tribune. Police estimated approximately 20,000 prostitutes working in Chicago. If we assume there are only 10,000 and they entertain only 3 men per night, this amount to 30,000 examples of illegal sex. Comparing this to the number of male living in Chicago, would equal 4 visits to a prostitute per year for every male resident or about 11 million instances of illegal activity per year.
However, the city only makes 3,204 arrests of prostitutes per year so the chance of the prostitute getting arrested on any given sexual exchange is one in 3400. Less than 1000 Johns were arrested, so the chance of arrest on any one night is one in 10,000. So if you are worried about getting caught, don’t worry.
You should use the reviews to establish known escorts and avoid the seedy open areas where arrests usually take place. Avoid outlandish street walkers who are often undercover cops or if you cannot resist, return to the same spot and see if you see the same outlandish pro is there on another night. Police only round up Johns when they need to make a political statement so if you see the same girls twice she is probably ok. In any event, in the words of Alfred E. Neumann, “What me worry?"

A person can be one of two things.
A cop or not a cop. That's 50/50. Hard to base on statistics. When it comes right down to it, the only statistics that matters are the one you personally come face to face with. While I agree with the gist of your statements, we must remember that it is not unlike the odds of being hit by lightning.

While those odds are approximately one in a million, the fact is that if you go outside in a thunderstorm and hold a metal pole above your head, the odds of you being hit at that time will be significantly greater.

The moral of the story is:  Be safe and discreet, and you'll push those odds to way safer territory.

(Incidently, if you are out playing golf and a thunderstorm sneaks up on you, you should bring along a one iron and hold it up over your head.  Not even God can hit a one iron.  Ba-doom.)

2) Set aside the money for the fine as the fine generally determines, or at least influences, the amount of bail.  If you don't have that much at least find out how much you'll need to pay a bail bondsman and keep their number handy.

3) Decide who you are going to call if you are arrested.

4) Make arrangements that enable your selected contact person can access your set aside bail money.

5) Keep the number of a criminal defense attorney handy.

6) Read up on what not to do or say around the police.

7) Relax and enjoy yourself, you've done all you can to prepare for a small chance event.

Hobbiests, stick to well reviewed providers.  Providers stick to well referenced hobbiests and the chances of getting in legal trouble are next to none.

Means the chance of arrest per encounter is %11 for a prostitute and %3.3 for John. That's 1 in 30 chance of getting arrested for a John, not l in 10,000.

I talked to a Fire Captain a few years ago. He said the odds of your washing machine, dryer or crock pot setting your house on fire was about like winning the lottery.

Problem was that he met a winner about two or three times a week.

Somebody has to win ... or get arrested .. .now and then.  

'Odds' are bullshit when talking about what we do here.  Like someone else said, using well reviewed providers, common sense, and sticking to a few favorites will make this safe.  Numbers will not.
