The news said he could get 15 years to life for the second degree murder and 3 years for using a gun.  The gun enhancement for second degree murder is 25 years, not 3 years. That means he will have to serve 40 years before he is eligible for parole.  The 3 year gun enhancement is for voluntary manslaughter, not second degree murder.

I believe he is 67 years old. That means he will be 107 years old at his first parole hearing. I wonder if he can convince the parole board that he has spend the last 40 years feeling sorry for killing Lana Clarkson and he is ready to return to society.  Very few inmates are granted parole at the first hearing but no problem he will be able to try again in 5 years when he is 112. Lucky for him he will get a parole hearing every five years after he serves 40 years so he won't have to wait so long between hearings.

There are 32 prisons in California.  Each facility is geared for a specific type of inmate.  Being that he is so freaking weird, he won't have to worry about being sent to a level 4 prison like Pelican Bay, Corcoran, Calipatria, Ironwood, Salinas Valley, Mule Creek, etc.  He will most likely end up at the California Men's Colony, CMC, in San Luis Obispo. CMC is one of the facilities where they send child molesters, snitches and any other high risk inmate.  CMC is a level 2 and 3 and is known as a soft yard.  San Quentin and Folsom are also level 2 and 3 prisons but they wouldn't be suited for Phil.  

He will spend the first 90 days to 6 months in an orientation facility like Wasco or Chino.  That is where they will decide where to send him.  The Department of Corrections has to be very careful where they place inmates because the state is responsible for an inmates safety and can be sued if an inmate is physically attacked by another inmate.  The state has paid out millions in law suits to inmates who have been attacked by other inmates.  

I wonder if the show, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous is still around.  If so they might do a show about Phil and his new lifestyle.  After all he is rich and famous. Good luck Phil on your new and very different lifestyle.  Who knows, it could be very exciting.

Lana was a beautiful classy women and her life was tragically lost.

She only was "trying to leave" when this monstor became inappropiate towards her.

That is exactly why it is not a good idea to leave/escape very  suddenly.  A women's safety is an issue and many women submitt or placate in an effort to make a safe exit.
