I'm not one of those who is listed for solicitation, but I did visit the parlor during the period when it was apparently under surveillance. I was never stopped in or out (a total of 3 times), but there is a record of telephone numbers, maybe tag number in a common parking lot, and the gal I saw would probably remember me. They are going for racketeering, but apparently the johns are not off the hook. I haven't gotten a letter or phone call from LE yet; anybody care to venture a guess as to what risk I have? Any info would be helpful!
I suggest that you begin by changing your mindset.
As worrying as this is, you are still very innocent until you are proven guilty. Absent a camera in the room with the girl, they have absolutely nothing. It is a "massage" parlor. As I understand it, you went for a massage. Was something else going on in other rooms? Well then, you would be shocked wouldn't you? You were there for a massage!
Sexual favors for money? You are shocked that such a thing could ever occur. The place seemed so legitimate.
If you are contacted by LE, there is only ONE intelligent response -- tell them you have nothing to say until you are represented by legal counsel. And if asked a question still, you just repeat that phrase. It is similar to "name, rank and serial number" for a POW.
If they send you a letter, then there case is really weak. If they had enough to make an arrest they would arrest you. If a letter comes, just pass it along to your attorney.
In fact to be safe, you might want to see an attorney now and begin getting your ducks in a row.
Most of the time, LE hangs people by what comes out of their mouths. Keep yours shut and they should have little to go on.
I doubt the girl will be much help to LE. Are they going to put the town in a line up and have her look at each one. And if she says something, it is her word against yours. The room was dark, my guess is that unless you are high profile, she will remember nothing.
The most likely outcome is little or no focus on the clients, unless you are high profile enough to make a splash in the press.
Just keep quiet and remember, the burden of proof is entirely on LE. Don't make their job easier by saying something.
... much ado about nothing. Unless they have you on tape soliciting (and if they did you would already know it) this will not come to anything. Its scare tactics by the cops. This is a misdemeanor (your part of this) not the friggin Brinks Job. Relax mvr
This is sad the ones that are legit they like to make things bad. The cash and dashes are ruining it for the ladys that are legit. This is why they go out and bust lady's.
It sad to say the LE try there best to make a name for them selfs. I have a story to tell I know a lady who got busted in a state somewhere else. This lady did not do drugs or anything bad. Well when they busted her they tryed there best to found something on her will they could not found one thing on her. They want to found drugs a crimmal record and the LT was a really asshole. Well she got off on solicitation. The city LE charged her with crimmal tool and soicitation. This is what get me upset when they try and bust the wrong lady's that is just doing this for reason like kids, college, thing that happens in everyday life. The LE need to get a life and found really crime.
I know with the my case, I am still boggled by the motive...a "prudish lady on a date site", & evoking fear..in an effrort to pop for 647b.. LE was also "angry" after they searched( w/o Miranda) me & my car yet, found nothing (I had a whopping $6 in cash) as I carry a credit card.
I made sure that I printed up other responce emails from other folks ( which proves that they saw the same ad & were not thinking 647b) as not one was anything inappropriate..
In retro-spect,,, I asked "what type of attire was appropriate for the reasteraunt?" and the COP told me to "wear a sundress", it was JUNE.. so I assumed he meant not formal stuffy & not jeans.. now it just sounds creepy
What you seem to fail to realize is the legislature makes the laws, not the police. If you read the local newspapers you will see that the police are under constant pressure from community groups to enforce laws against prostitution. Most of the pressure comes from religious groups like the Family Values Coalition. The Family Values Coalition has made several complaints against police departments in California for not going after internet "prostitution." The anti prostitution people are the only one who show up at the hearings and their views are the only views that are heard. The legislature will never change the law as long as 100% of the people support laws against prostitution.
I was reading about proposition K (legalize in Ca)maybe,it could give some relief to old convictions??
yes & the COP decides what specific stings they want to do. unless "they had to twist his arm to look at pretty girls & find 1 that he personally found attractive or easy prey to "set up" & make sure he ate his prime rib & had plenty of beer" most tell me that I resemble actress Jennifer G...., I think she looks rather wholesome..... s Why not go after real hooks out making a public nuisance,, I guess it is not as fun & no beer
