I'm from the Detroit area and was wondering what the deal is with out of state area codes?  I found a provider that I would like to set up an appointment with but she has a Cal. area code.  Heather has several reviews in the D but the area code is wierd to me.  Any thoughts?

she used to live out in California and decided to take her number with her to a new location for convience sake.  This is true for both cell phones and land lines now.

Area Codes are no longer a reliable indicator as to where a person resides.

Keeping area codes as mrfisher said also helps in searching for reviews of the provider and allows existing customers to contact the provider. Changing numbers means contacting existing customers with the new number which is not very discreet and also updating TER profiles, etc

As mrfisher said, people take their numbers with them.  One of the reasons for deregulation was so people could have lifetime numbers.

I've had mine for 15+ years (I got into cell phones earlier than most...) but I still run into people wondering why I don't have a local number.

With the advent of nationwide free long distance it's starting to do away with the need for 800#s too.

Happy Dialing,

I've heard recently that the escort business is not legal in my area, so some pros set up the business to use a phone and location where it is legal to operate an escort agency.

She moved

She bought a pre-paid phone in CA

She travels and that is home base

Someone else pays the bill and they are in CA

Her dear old Mother/Father/Grandparents live in CA and she wants it to be a local call for them

She's got the 411 on the 213 and she wants to keep it that way...right.

When you meet her, in the middle of a great BBBJ, ask her why she has a CA number...if you care at that point...lol!

..why do all of the visiting ladies have local area codes? I only look for the independent girls, but when I search for reviews I may get a very different description of the girl I'm looking at. Sometimes it has several names with several different descriptions. btw, I still don't have the courage to call one yet!

This sort of thing should set off an alarm. In many cases the phone number is owned by a local gal or "agency" who run fake or bait and switch ads.  The pictures are not the woman (women) who will answer the door when you arrive. I'm not saying that this is always the case but it happens often enough to raise a red flag. Any true independent lady will have her own work phone and consistent reviews.
