Are there any internet sources to follow for prostitution/solication arrests? I live in minneapolis and the local police pages are updated only about every 6 months. No big deal just interested if there is anything else out there to watch.
        Thank you

ou do need to take more precaution if you got caught before in a prostitution sting. If you never got caught, just keep a few hundred for bail money.  I do not know what is the bail rate in your state.  If you keep $500 additional in your pockets, you should not have problem getting bailed out.  If this is your first time, you hire a good lawyer, and not piss off the judge; you will not go to jail.

1. Use well reviewed provider.
2. Keep it in big cities.
3. Ask for massage over the phone for booking an appointment for the first time. It is a good way because you are diverting your intention away from prostitution.  Never use codewords or indicate you coming for sex.  There been cases where decoys have to turn down hobbyists who are just looking for massages.

Right now around US, the war against internet prostitution is in the loosing phase. Most police departments have given up on internet hookers because of budget shortfall and it does not accomplish much.  These girls come out of jail and do the same thing over again.
Most police department want to save their resources to go after street hookers because they are a public nuisance and business want the cities to crack down on them.

1. Look out for Casinos. If you are in an area where there are Casinos, the Casinos sometimes request police to crack down on internet hookers because it takes their businesses away.

2. Watch out in small town or rural USA because of conservative values.  I prefer big cities.

3.  Watch out around the bible belt in small towns because sting operation gives the police and a politicians a good name.

4. Watch out for small towns in Wisconsin because there are large numbers of religious people.

Even in the bible belt areas and many small town, most police departments given up on the war against internet prostitution because the war cannot be won.  There are more internet hookers than jail spaces in county jails to lock them up. The county jails let them go quickly because they are not considered violent offenders. It cost the courts and the government money to keep them on probation. Many times they cannot afford to pay fines or move out of state.

There's various reports available on the Minneapolis Police Department's webpage. There's the Uniform Crime Reports which are the reports that get sent to the FBI for statistical compilation. It'll include total number of arrests per month, including prostitution. As you've found, the Minneapolis PD engages in public shaming by publishing photos of people arrested or convicted of solicitation of prostitution. There's the signup for reports of crime in your area. Most major newspapers, including the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, usually have access to the police blotter, a daily report of police activity. Just do a search on the newspaper's website for prostitution and blotter.

Wow you must be lucky where you live.  Vs the many huge nationwide FBI/local PD busts in major cities.

In Phoenix you need typically $5000 for bail or $50,000 if you have a driver or phone person since now you are faced with a criminal enterprise felony.   $500 plus your car or other collateral makes the bail bondsmen 10% if only $5000 bail.

Now, if you want a private attorney expect at least a $10,000 retainer.  In the Desert Divas case some paid $100k+ in legal fees and would up in prison on criminal enterprise felonies.

Bail was $1 million recently for the the owner of a place where sometimes alleged hand releases occurred.  Eventually reduced to $50,000.

If I was in a place like Phoenix I'd get a passport so I could hobby-tour across the border. Is it safe to do that?

Dave appears to be describing busts of organized crime rings, not individual hobbyists.

As for Mexico, I would recommend not going there to go hobbying, since Mexico is generally a shit hole except for the resort areas that cater to Americans going there for vacation.  I say this as a person who has been to Mexico dozens of times, both on business, and for personal recreation.  I would never go there just to go hobbying, it is too far to drive and just to spend an hour with a lady, and the border crossing can take forever when you want to come back home.  Besides, there are an abundance of ladies to choose from in Arizona anyway, and I don't have to learn Spanish in order to communicate with them.

PSE,

You made a good analysis given limited local facts. I'm assuming of where you live.
I agree carry bail money.  Call the court and ask today not when you decide to go out, the amount of bail, the fine.  You may not want that money suddenly being seen missing by your SO.  Same with the attorney's retainer.

Oh, if you didn't understand my first sentence, think for yourself.  PSE is making some logical assumptions, but  note ASSUMPTIONS based on SOME information.  Gather your own information locally.  What's the budget like for LE County & City.  What are LE priorities.  How much on Vice? What part of vice do they put a priority on (even as a prosecutor I had trouble getting an answer to this one) I go to people you probably can't approach.  However, there are newspapers, Council Persons, Supervisors, Mayors Office or your areas equivalent.  Also, there is the police and sheriff public relation office.  REMEMBER, you are a concerned citizen or resident, YOU have a right to ask these questions and get answers.
