I heard you could be arrested for doing anal by the federal buggery act and be sent directly to federal jail without no trial or talking to a lawyer since it’s a federal crime.

There is no federal law forbidding anal sex, and even if there were it would be unconstitutional.  It also wouldn't be called the "buggery act".  On top of that, people accused of any crime are entitled to a trial and to a lawyer.  This is just as true of federal crimes as of state crimes.

Being caught in your home country with the misfortune of being in the proximity of terrorists (i.e. people who say Alah akbar a lot and wear beards), then yes, this is very true.

Sorry, I know this isn't the P&S board, but I couldn't resist.

(still not a lawyer)

You need to stop listening to those particular experts, especially if they're the ones who told you there is a "federal buggery act".

The president, unfortunately, does have some pretty sweeping powers when he disignates someone an unlawful enemy combattant.  Those powers don't apply to people who are accused only of traditional crimes.  Even if anal sex were a federal crime (which it isn't) and even if making it a crime would be constitutional (it wouldn't), anyone accused of such a crime would be entitled to a speedy public trial by an impartial jury and to representation by counsel.

The rights to a jury trial and to counsel are part of the constitution, so the only way to eliminate them would be via constitutional amendment or convention.  The president can't do so on his own.  For that matter, neither can congress - or even the president and congress working together.

The chances of BOTH houses of Congress passing such an act is zilch, as most members of Congress  are already guilty, even if only with their wives.

You have civil rights, the Bill of Rights, the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution -

While I wouldn't put this is past the supporters of our DUMB AS A TREE STUMP President efforts to try convince him that EVERYONE who engages in anal sex must be an agent of Al Quaida, deserving to be whisked away to a country where the rules of law, don't apply, and torture is common, and the US can't be held responsible.  This seems to be to only situation where your civil rights don't apply!!

I'm just curious, how many men in Guantanamo have been buggered, let alone at Abu Griebe!!!

Unless you are current member of the armed services, or reserve, or have invited a provider to cross state lines (covered in the Mann Act) consensuous sex between hobbyist and provider doesn't violate any federal law I know of.

I don't know who you are listening to, but i would suggest you get a new circle of friends!!!
