I doubt it

I doubt LE could do anything but then, I'm not a lawyer and I'm certainly not a cop or DA who is out to eliminate prostitution in my community.  That's assuming, of course, that you're conversations with her ONLY discuss non-sex stuff.  Under the law, if you talk about sex and talk about sex for money, you can be arrested even if you don't engage in any sex.  All you have to do is pay her money.  It's not fair but that's the way it is.

On the other hand, I cannot imagine any escort agreeing to it.

Suppose I see a girl on BP that I really fancy and she has one TER review.  She is asking $300/hour for a GFE.

If I convince her to meet me at a local mall for 30 minutes and pay her $200 for conversation and ice cream only, can LE detain/arrest/charge me for any crime at the mall if I don't do anything beyond a handshake (maybe a hug) in a public place?

My purpose for such a meeting would be to see if the stellar pictures she posted up in her ads are anywhere near accurate.

Thanks.

Why wouldn't an escort agree to what amounts to her full rate, just for having a cup of coffee and conversation? As a matter of fact, many providers offer this very type of date, usually at a discounted rate.

As far as the legality of such a meeting, on the surface it would appear to be perfectly legal. That said, "if" the lady was indeed LE posing as an escort and she enticed the OP into soliciting her for a subesquent date that included sex for pay, then yes he would be guilty of soliciting and would be subject to arrest. You don't need to exchange money for sex, just the offer alone is enough to be not only arrested, but convicted as well.

Whether she is up for a $200 half hour session of public chat and a hug is another matter, but I'd be willing to bet that more than a few gals would be willing to take you up on it.

Escorting, sans any sexual activity, is a legal profession, and (one time anyways) was practiced with both male and female consorts.

One adviso:  Some jurisdictions have licensing laws for escorts, so she could run afoul of this if she lives in such an area and is unlicensed.

(still not a lawyer)

My first thought was 'of course not, there is nothing illegal about paying a woman to meet yo for ice cream.'  Then I thought about it a bit.  How would LE get involved in this in the first place?  My only answer was that the escort was LE posing as a provider.   In THAT case, given the amount of time and resources LE would spend to have her meet you with back up officers nearby, I would assume they would bust you for SOMETHING - and there is always something they can bust you for.  For all I know they could (IN THEORY) call this a conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor at some future date.  Or the cop will simply say you solicited her.

Having said all that, the situation is actually so innocent as to wonder why the question was asked to begin with?  Escorts, providers, even felons not currently in fugitive status are perfectly free to have lives and that 'freedom of association' thingie from the Constitution.  Lets assume a vice cop happened to be having a double scoop at the next table and recognized the lady as a provider.  He can't arrest you just for talking to her or even for seeing you pass her two Benjamins.  He might follow the both of you till you parted company to ensure a sex act had not just been paid for and about to be consumated (Victoria's Secret fitting room fantasy?) but he would have no grounds to arrest anyone for anything if you parted company without committing an overt act.

And again, this is a scenario that would assume LE had the time and inclination to spend 3-5 man-hours to set up and execute a single misdemeanor arrest for soliciting.

one of us could bargain her down to two hundred, you could pay and we meet her at her home and sample the goodies, after which we can write you a detailed review

--que passa amigo? and who pays for the ice creaming (sex in a freezer room)

As they say in Roma, "Couraggio caro, la vita e' sempre un riscio!"   (be brave, everything in life is always a risk)

Where is this recession, hobbyists on this board have money to burn and passion all aflame....most of us have gone a lifetime with our being busted or throwing money away and if she is not the beauty at the door just leave for free, that is perfectly legal  even if the police are behind her, just don't ask her to have sex. for money...and remember hugs are not for free especially if you have an erection... That might get you busted even in a shopping mall?

What does Shakesaspear say? "It is impossible to have satisfactory sexual relation without disrobing, ice cream eating is excellent but only after sex and who needs conversation?

But nothing is wrong with Prudence and she has lots of reviews!

It will take her getting dressed, maybe hair & make up, leave the hotel, drive to the mall.  She gets a free cone...  drives back.  It will take her a couple of hours to do a 30 minute public date...  hours she could be working.  Maybe if you offered a full hour compensation for 1/2 public date.
As far as I can see it's legal.
She still might not care to...  seems civie date-ish, maybe stalker-ish...

What is the legality of asking for an appointment consisting of just dancing?  Nude dancing.

It depends:

  - if this nude dancing were going to take place in an hotel room or other area completely away from public view, it's probably legal.

  - if the nude dancing takes place where "members of the public" can see it, it might not be legal depending on state/local laws and probably isn't legal unless you're in a fully-licensed nude bar/club.  Note that it probably wouldn't be charged as a prostitution-related offense but as "public nudity" or "lewd behavior" or some other similar statute.

Note: the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that nude dancing is not protected speech under the First Amendment so states and municipalities are free to ban it.

I am offering to pay for the dancing. This is a situation I have arranged for the near future.
