Anyone know a good hobby-savy lawer in Los Angeles? I'm not in any trouble, I just have some questions and want someone to keep on file.

It's spelled L-A-W-Y-E-R. Or you can spell it A-S-S-H-O-L-E. I am an attorney, and even I think most attorney's are assholes. But I work in mergers & acquisitions, so unless you are interested in buying a brothel, I won't be of much help.

I would start by calling criminal defense lawyers in your area. Look in the Yellow Pages. Look for ones who are Certified Specialists in criminal law. This means that is all they do and they have a lot of experience. It also means that they are really good and can charge a lot of money.

You don't even have to give them your real name. Ask if they have any experience in defending men arrested for visiting escorts (don't call it soliciting - when talking to a lawyer, use common English, not any legalese. If you use the wrong term or use the term wrong, you may receive advice that is not what you really want).

If they say no, ask for a referral. Most law practices thrive on referrals.  Keep calling until you find one that has this kind of experience.

Be careful of attorneys who do a little of everything. They'll tell you they can help you, but if they are doing divorces, personal injury and immigration law, they will not have the expertise that you are looking for.
