Last month the attorney for the deceased owner of the DC escort service was in court attempting to appeal the rulings that prohibited he release of the infamous " black book ". He claims it would impact the presidential race. Of course that led to a lot of fun speculation. Wondering if anyone knows what the status is?
This is on today's docket as a "discussion" item. There's no further information linked from that page http://www.supremecourt.gov/Search.aspx?FileName=/docketfiles\15a1016.htm As a discussion item: if half the court wants oral argument or to lift the restraining order and the other four justices oppose it this results in a stalemate, and nothing will happen according to the source below.
They reviewed the appeal, and denied it but there are no records of who voted which way. Just that "the court" won't relieve (lift/suspend) the restraining order keeping the records officially hidden.
The attorney mentioned he might release them anonymously. I think he should have kept his mouth shut and instead reported having been "hacked and the records stolen" instead of making himself a target if they're published. The restraining order he's trying to get lifted looks like it was written to protect someone within the same Government that's preventing release of the records: https://www.scribd.com/doc/307360219/2007-Restraining-Order-for-D-C-Madam-Records
