Is it common for higher end providers to be arrested or hassled by LE?  If so, does LE typically look into customers?  It seems like it would be relatively easy to find providers based on websites, etc.

Or do things work differently?  I would be interested if anyone has comments or questions.

It's not about high end or low end as much as it is about being discrete or being stupid.  Providers and agencies at every price point need to operate by the same set of rules if they want to stay safe.  It seems to me that the higher end is more likely to attract attention from the IRS or other financial agencies which, to be honest, will cause a lot more heartache than local LE will.

Things don't really work any differently for the high end vs the low. You either do things intelligently and with discretion or, sooner or later, you get caught. And yes, the FBI or the Treasury Department will go after clients in some cases to get their testimony. They will often secure that testimony by threatening to file charges.

Travel Act, which makes it a federal crime to use interstate facilities in furtherance of conduct that violates state prostitution laws, and RICO wherein the Travel Act violation was one of the RICO predicate acts.

Treasury agents might investigate clients of high end providers in conjunction with state officials if a provider is not paying taxes on her income - i.e., threaten the client with state charges to induce him to testify he paid money to the provider she did not report as income.

But for a pure state law misdemeanor I see no basis for federal involvement.

She spent almost two years in federal prison after being convicted of tax evasion-a federal crime.

The OP was asking about higher end escorts. The higher up the social and economic food chain that providers and agencies decide to promote themselves the more chance there is for prosecution beyond the local level if someone gets caught.  As I said, read the papers...

It probably helps if your not using the same agency as say a hollywood celebrity or politician.  Not like you would know anyway

That's what landed Al Capone in Alcatraz.  Not being a mob boss, but cheating the government.  That's what landed Heidi in prison as well, not being a pimpette.  Bottom line: Pay Uncle Sam his due, or prepare to wear a pumpkin suit...

The biggest risk seems to be with the escort agencies.  LE sees a greater return for their dollar.  Remember, LE needs to generate headlines in an effort to see that their budget needs are met.

Busting Jane the individual provider get's no press play.  However, an agency can generate headlines, which we have all seen.  Also, an agency will tend to have kept records, credit card receipts and all the other goodies that make it easier to track customers down.

For the most part I agree with you but there have been headlines of busts on individual providers as well. The names escape me but a couple of years ago there was an ex porn star in Atlanta and before that a Brazilian gal in California who go busted, investigated and lost everything to the IRS.

The moral remains the same. Be discrete, be as under the radar as you can, don't be greedy and don't be stupid.  For every high profile bust that we read about there are thousands of smart, beautiful women making a living and managing to stay out of trouble.  Those are the ones you want to see.

The feds have raided massage parlors and found they hired illegal aliens. So I assume the same would apply to escort agencies.
