... what are describing in my opinion is wrong because it creates a "relationship" between the hobbyist and the "provider" where certain things are discussed and the provider is not aware of it. In my years as an assistant, I would never do that because of that very reason. One, it's technically false advertising and dishonest and misleading and two, when you finally meet the provider, she has no clue what you are even talking about.
I always introduce myself as "Toni, so and so's personal assistant" ... that is the way it should be. Sometimes, gentlemen have actually declined to meet with the ladies because they did not like dealing with an assistant. That was their choice. We would rather honor his choice than to be dishonest and carry out a charade/facade.
If one of the ladies I assistant cannot post her ads, I will post her ads for her, but that is different. I am merely posting an ad or responding to a PM saying "Please email my assistant with your request". Never, should it be acceptable for an assistant to pretend they are the provider. That's just wrong and you have every right to be upset. I would think that the provider should be the most upset in this situation. If I had an assistant pretending to be me, God only knows what they were saying or promising, or who knows what!
It is an interesting topic, I am sure this has been going on for years and will probably continue to go on for years. Some hobbyists would be outraged, others probably would care less. It is what it is...
Just my opinion...
