Looking for hotel suggestions.

OK, I've finally convinced my best friend of over 40 years to go to "vegas with me for a couple of days of debauchery.  I'm thinking it would be cool to rent a suite for the two of us, but not the high roller kind.  I'm no Whale, I'm more of a flounder.  I'd like to stay under $300 per night - Mandalay was my first choice.  We're coming down next month (April 2016).  I will also be looking for some company, he probably will not.  So, the room needs to accommodate those different requirements.

I do get decent discounts through the company I work for, so a retail of $400+ is within reach.

Now specifics.  I would like to stay in a place that attracts a finer class of talent.  Also, I'm convincing him to go with me to Sapphire.  Friday night or Saturday?  Most likely early in the evening - before 9:00 PM

You have many great choices but I would say Mandalay Bay is hard to beat!

If you can live without a casino downstairs, these hotels are less money. You can always walk a short distance to gamble. Another way to pay less for a room is to book during a non convention week or book during the week. There are more than one Vegas site that shows the conventions in town. Booking during the week days instead of the weekend makes for a less expensive room. Also, I would stay on the strip or extremely close to the strip for more fun.

I like to casino hop,to be in the center of the action and MB is a tad too far south for me. I mean it's better then South Point. I'm a "wanderer" and I need to walk and get lost in other hotels. I mean, what's across the street of MB?....Nothing.
But for your budget then that'll be the place but check out the the rates at the Mirage. I once got a great suite for $180 a night.
Oh and your choice for going to Sapphire's...excellent ideal, great place.
So good luck

It's next door to Mandalay Bay. I like that end of the strip, nice and quiet.

Have you looked into Vdara? They have some very nice rooms, elegant and classy... many are 2 bedroom suites (some ptivately owned, some not) a great location (in City Center on the strip with direct access to the Cosmopolitan and a short stroll to Aria), and I've heard of people getting pretty good deals there (I assume not having a casino makes them more eager to compete.)

Friday or Saturday are great.  If you are interested in going to sapphire VIP  style  I would be more than happy to help. You might also want to consider the world-famous Palomino. I can accommodate VIP there, as well.  If this sounds interesting let me know

Delano is good choice - as they are ALL suites and have separate bedroom.

Other option look at non gaming hotel like Jockey Club - they also have reasonably prices 1 and 2 bedroom options (and easy access to Cosmo casino floor)...also have kitchen's

Any lady on here will be a good option to help "talk" your friend into going to Sapphire. Although once a lady arrives you may never leave for the club :
