I made two trips across country in less than 48 hours and my body is very confused...I thought I would be straightened out by now, but this is not working out.

I have been waiting for a few days for my body to realize it is not in NYC or Cleveland....and so far I am still waking up at 2ish....that would be fine if I were not staying up until 11ish....

I can't seem to get to sleep at a reasonable hour and can't stay sleep.....when I do doze off. During the day I have to take a nap or I get so out of control sleepy I can't manage.

Can anyone suggest anything.....besides any sort of drugs, and I had a tottie last night to no avail.

the only thing I've found that works is to be awake when you are supposed to, no matter what. Your body will adjust, unless you let it have the afternoon sleep it tells you it wants.

Alrighty... I travel from overseas to the US (a 20+ hour trip) 3 or 4 times a year, and I have my share of jet lag experiences:D

It seems to me that your body needs at least one or two days per hour of timing difference to get adjusted. If you've moved from NYC to LV, you would need anything between 3 days to a week to adjust. Now you would think that if you travel forth and back in a short time you would be fine... apparently, not true. My worst experience was last year when I traveled to the US, spent one day, and then traveled back. I was screwed up for at least a week. It seems the body has a mind of its own :)

Hello Ms.Allure

Im not quite sure my remedy will work for you though it has helped me with my cross country travels and juggling a life between having a 7yr old and my overnite bookings..

You may want to designate a day of extreme exercise..
Im not referincing sexual intimacy but rather a day of sports minded extreme sports..

you may have to push the envelope when it comes to this ..
I mean true exercise ie: long walk thru the redrock area, followed by a long swim(it is still 80 plus degrees)
than you may want to just keep going even if your body says : tired!! tired!!
keep going ... it will be terrible but trust me you will be exhausted..
you may want to follow with a stop at a gym and detox via sauna /steam..
dont drink  alcoholic beveragesthat will lie to your body!!
I dont know you so Im not sure this would be your cure all..
but good luck and stay meditating and yoga!!
LL

Exercise is  helpful to fight jet lag. Also try to get out in the sunlight to help readjust the internal clock.

I travel back to forth from UK all the time and I get the same way.  The only thing that seems to help me is to starve myself for a day.  ONLY eat at meal times.

Believe it or not; the #1 addiction, even more so than the hobby, is eating.  The body adapts to eating behaviours so starving yourself for a day helps put it back to perspective.

I like Lorenas idea as well!!  Both changes the insulin levels and so your "internal clock".

As a frequent traveler ... No Drugs.  Avoid Caffeine.  I travel East Coast to West Coast frequently.  The experts say it takes 1 day per time zone crossed for your body to fully adjust.  You need to immediately follow the time zone you're so that may mean going to sleep earlier than you should, or staying up past when you should.  So when I get to LA, I force myself to stay up until 11 pm and then go to sleep.  My body thinks it 2 am but you gotta do it.  And then I usually wake up early, but it is what it is.  The next day I'm usually better.  Fell free to PM me.

Stay up for 24 straight hours, or as close as you can come, and then go to sleep at whatever time you normally go to sleep, force yourself to wake up 8 hrs later, or after however long you usually sleep, and you're back on schedule.

And don't forget to masturbate a lot. It may not help you sleep, but just in general you should masturbate a lot.

It's a sleep hormone, it helps your body manufacture serotonin, and will help regulate your daily cycle if you're normally a daytime person.

It's widely available...most grocery stores, pharmacies, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wild Oats, heath food stores, etc..

I think I will try this one.....I did finally sleep more than 2 hours....but I cant stay sleep....if I were still in Ohio I would be getting up about now to start my day....I opened shop at 5am.

So my internal clock is still set on EST.

I have not had the energy or will power to do much of anything....as far as working out is concerned.....however today before it gets warm out I am going to take a longgggggggggggggg walk.
