Looking to stay at Signature Suites late next month or New York New York.  Is there any security issues at either place or any advantages that one property has over the other?  Thanks in advance!

***You can not park there if you are not staying there !!!!! They will have to park across the street and walk over or park in the mgm parking garage and walk all the way to the signature ;( . Also the suites are very small there, But they are nice , the room service is good, over all the property is beautiful, there are allot of amenities available. lol vallet sucks there though

Not only are only registered guest allowed to park but it is valet only for registered guest. The big problem is that 2 out of the 3 buildings close their valets at 10pm on weeknights and Midnight on weekends. If even as a registered guest you come in after 10pm expect a very long walk from the valet you have to use to your building.  
If you want any visitors you will have to drive over to MGM or Planet Hollywood to pick them up. Or they can take a cab in to see you.

I have been to that property many times and I have never parked my car at the parking garage and walked.
Regarding parking it is true it is valet only and just for guests.
However if you are visiting a guest that is staying there  tip the valet in advance they will keep your car upfront or park it at the building your visiting.If you do not tip then yes you will have to do that crazy walk(which I refuse to do).
It is not something required to tip but you know the saying money talks...

Never had a problem during the times I have stayed at the Signature Suites, I just make it a point to be out front when she arrives, and pre-tip valet, letting them know she is see a guest...

Yes it's valet only, and there is a gate. All the lady needs to do is say she's visiting a guest. The valet will give a temp pass just like any other place that valets . No security at the elevator , halls , etc . It's a very nice place . Enjoy !
