While,it is always good to go with well-reviewed providers sometimes TOFFT works out sometimes it does not.
Like some other replies said meeting in public would not have done anything but confirm indeed the person showing up is the same as in the picture.It does not guarantee against being robbed .People who are scammers are good at being nice so you let your guard down and when you do not agree with these scammers they result in violence.
Don't give up on Vegas some might if they were in your situation but you found this site so you do not have to worry about having to deal with that again.
Maxie is a liar and a rip-off artist. She advertises $400 GFE but when she gets to your room she will demand $1500 from you. But first she will set-up a weapon in your room like a wine bottle or something else. Tonight when I refused to pay extra she hit me with the wine bottle in my face and stole $2,000 from my wallet and ran into the hall screaming I attacked her.

As for seeing unreviewed providers, that's not exactly a stupid thing to do. It may not work for you, but there's nothing particularly dumb about paying to have sleep with a girl that dozens of guys haven't written about on a website. TER would quickly become stale if everybody subscribed to that belief, and you'd never be able to see a new provider.
This guy did nothing wrong. He just ran into an unfortunate situation.

I am not sure that meeting in public would change what this girl was going to do. She may have acted just fine in public and once you got to the room she may have pulled the same stunt. Who knows.
If a gal is using fake photos you will find out by meeting her in person. Red flag number one if its not the gal in the photo.
Most people can get a sense of people when you spending time getting to know one another. If she is in such a rush red flag number two.
I am a people person so I could go on and on. If the gal is advertsing 400hr why leave all the money in your wallet.

Not sure if meeting first in public is the answer . As someone can be nice and sweet in public and then turn on you once back in the room.
BUT , you have this wonderful site called TER.
If you stick to calling well reviewed TER ladies .........and I mean pages and pages of great reviews
Then you will be safe from being beaten , robbed , up-selled , bait and switch.
Now well reviewed may not always guarantee they will show up .
Some may flake or call to cancel last minute ( as another reviewer mentioned in another thread )
BUT at least you know you won't get beaten, robbed or anything else that you may regret.
BTW in my opinion a truly professional well reviewed lady wouldn't just flake .
If she needs to cancel , she will let you know ( unless she was in jail or hospital and doesn't have a way to contact you ) and she will be sure to make it up to you next time.
OR even try to find someone else to replace her.
That is what I would do..........although for me to cancel , I would have to be very sick.

I would have called the cops. Maybe nothing would have come of it or maybe something would have. If she hit you with a bottle that had to leave a mark. The cops would have taken pictures of your face. Being beaten and robbed in Texas is a felony not sure about Neveda. Which does get the attention of the police. I would think the cops would put forth a honest effort to get her. It's never good for business when tourist are getting beaten and robbed.
As a frequent visitor to Vegas i only see well reviewed providers and do a little homework.As most big cities do Vegas, has its share of scams,bait and switch and upsells . Because Vegas is a popular city they just seem to get more ink. Thats why reading these boards and sharing info is critical to keeping our hobby safe. Please do a little homework and youll have a great time in Vegas. Thanks for posting the rip off.
Eros is reliable back home, but I amazed at its reputation in Vegas, I think allot of guys ( Like me 2 years ago) assumed since it's ok back home it would be ok in Vegas, but even I noticed some odd Eros ads. But hell, I got a bucket list just from reading this board that will last me years to come, who needs Eros.
Post a review, save the next guy a bottle in the face, unless that's what they're looking for, in which case they can find that here too, but at least she'll give a bandaid when it's over.

Irregardless of the ..."I should of" or "could of" ...NO ONE deserves to be treated like this period!!! It`s one thing that she robbed him ...which is wrong in the first place BUT she physically assaulted him as well ... NO ONE should have to go through that on either side of the hobby or in life in general ...it`s just NOT acceptable!!! If this happened to you ...GOD forbid ...I don`t think that you would be taking it so lightly or nonchalantly!!! Just my 2 cents ...
