I don't doubt the agency girls not knowing more than 2 others without pimps.  There's plenty of UTR providers that have pimps.  If you want to use a really loose term, there are few providers that aren't supporting another person in their household and if that happens to be an adult male, those guys are thrown into pimp group.  From a Vegas vice perspective, anyone that lives off the earning of a provider falls into the felony pimp category whether they were involved or not.

But the group of well reviewed providers here are a tiny minority of sex workers in Vegas.  If you consider that there are estimated to be 6000 sex workers in the county at any one time and I would guess there's easily less than 1000 of those that have reviews in TER, all they're doing is showing the realities of this industry, with a large focus on Vegas (and a small segment on NYC).

Anybody else watch this?  Interesting look into Vegas.  Man, did they miss some things, though...

I caught just a small segment and wish I had seen the entire piece.
The part I saw focused on the the network of cabbies, limo drivers, etal acting as girls' marketing reps pretty much receiving referral fees.
Also I saw the item on the relationships between agencies and their independent contractor girls and their "in the shadows" handlers. Truly grim and very sad if this is true and was news to me. Again reenforced my mantra..stay with independents..stay with independents.. stay with independents..
I appreciated the vice cops' insight and the hidden camera work by the reporters..I know.. I know these shows are always intended to dramatize and make a situation worse than it is but thought there was probably a lot of accuracy for the segment of sex workers in Vegas on which the story focused.
Will wait to hear from people with more insight  but I thought the show worthwhile and certainly hope to improve these poor girl's work situations. This atmosphere seems so distant from the girls who frequent this board but it's so close.

..with my wife.  Of all the damn things to stumble across while channel surfing.
