Very sad new's indeed and once again it
give's us pause and a reason to thank the man
upstairs for the time we have.

Somebody just sent me a terrible e-mail and I am trying to find out if there is any truth behind it.

I got the news today that Smarty passed away yesterday after a long medical battle.  I can't begin to express how said a day it is.

He was just posting.So sad ;-( Smarty you will def be missed.

I was starting to wonder why he wasn't calling on Dr. Spice ;-( ;-(
Such a sad day. Smarty will greatly be missed ,but always remembered.

 

So sorry to hear that. He will be missed. After his recent comeback from being away from the boards for medical reasons, he came back strong and was posting just a few days ago.
I only very recently started posting and don't post much but have been lurking around TER since '99 or '00, and have read many many of Smarty's posts and reviews, and he seemd like a great guy and a good moderator.  
RIP Smarty. Thoughts and prayers with the family (and his TER family, especially those of you who knew him personally)

I'm deeply saddened by this!  I was hopeful that he was on the road to full recovery!

Smarty I hope your resting peacefully.

Where ever he is now, may all the providers be GFE.

A hole in the spot where humor, balls and integrity filled this board - and probably a good part of this industry. Ornery, but gracious. I learned a lot from him.

I'm devastated to hear this news. Rest in peace, my friend.

I never met him but saw by his posts a knowledgeable person who tried to keep things moving in a honest positive direction.
He will be missed and leave a void to be filled.
RIP Smarty and my condolences to his family.

Irreplacable fixture on this board; his salty humor & no-nonense approach to rooting out ROB's
made him an invaluable presence. I learned a great deal from him.

He will be missed.

I never met Smarty, but from his posts he seemed to enjoy life to its fullest.  I would recommend that everyone celebrate the joy his posts indicate he had in life.

I am certain being part of this community filled his last days with joy. I laughed at his last post, I wish I could have known him.

Smarty sent me a PM once after I had posted something here.  I don't remember what it was about, but I do remember that he was understanding, affirming and thoughtful in what he wrote.  I'd bet he was a good man, and I regret we never met.

My 1st review. We were just laughing together. You are going to be missed and I am sad.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
