I am coming out next week and was wondering what kind of fun things there are to do. I have been to Vegas many times with family but now that I am coming out on my own I was looking for something fun to do. I don't gamble much and I do go to shows but is ther anything else I need to do or see? Any help is appreciated.

It really depends on what your interest is.  You can take the tour at the Hoover Dam, take a drive out to Red Rocks or the Valley of Fire or see one of the many great shows in town (Mama Mia, Blue Man Group, "O", Mystere, etc). Perhaps you would enjoy an adult show like La Femme (at the MGM). There are "thrill" rides at Sahara, NYNY and the Stratosphere.  You can go to the Ethel M factory and watch how the make the gourmet chocolates, or perhaps your a fan of Celiene....

Whatever you decide, Have a great trip!

As the others have said there is tons of stuff to do in Vegas, and what they have given you is just the tip of the Ice berg.  There are lots of out door activites and tons of trails to hike. As mentioned by spinner Red Rocks and the Valley of Fire are awesome places and both have trail to hike,  Red Rocks has more.  Other outdoor palces would be Mt. Charleston (the trails are a bit difficult to find)  Ash Meadow, Floyd lamb State park at Tule Springs, Corn Creek Field Satation, the Vegas Wet lands, or it might be the Vegas Wash, the bird viewing preserve in Henderson, the are various trails along the NorthShore rd, which goes around lake Mead and to the Valley of Fire, the Lost City Museum which is just past the Valley of Fire  rafting on the Colorado river, the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge,  and if you have a totally free day you can get to Death Valley.  In town there are rollercoasters, a water slide park, art galleries, Shark Reef, King Tuts tomb, and lots lots more. Drop me a PM if you have any questions about stuff.

There's also a cool, high indoor climbing wall opposite NYNY.  Although that wouldn't take up much of your time - unless you really can't climb in which case you probably wouldn't be interested :)) But it's good to watch others try while you wander around town.

Wow! This is great stuff! I will definately do the wall and am glad there are places to hike. I like to get exercise even while I am out enjoying myself. I love to take pictures too so I would like to find a great place with good scenery. Thank you all so much for your help. I will keep checking back for more ideas to add to my list!

Twenty years ago, you could drive a truck about 60 miles into the desert with some friends, a case of beer, a couple rifles, and an unlimited supply of ammo.  Slam suds and shoot anything that moves.  Non-profit and government organizations have since popped up that now frown on that activity.  Too bad.  Good times, good times.

Carrie~you had me laughin' with your post.  I was thinking the same thing as I was reading your message..."unless you really can't climb"... you really could be there all day!!!  I don't know what it is about those walls, but every time I see one I've gotta take the challenge and climb, but then the only thing I'm good for the rest of the day is a nap!!! Oh, well.

Flyway Indoor Skydiving is at 200 Convention Center Dr.  702-731-4768 or 877-545-8093.  It's $50. I went there 3 or 4 years ago and it was fun.

Damm, usually I'm on vacation in Vegas when you are going to be there, but I had to switch my vacation times :(   If I was down there this late April early May I would love to see you!!!  You are right there are lots of great places to take pictures at down there.  If you can go to Ash Meadows and take the short walk to the spring and hope there are no people around to take some shots :)

Thank you for all your input!
Is the sky diving worth doing? Is it worth doing two times? I plan on having some fun this time while I am there! Can't wait till Monday!

The climbing wall is fantastic!  I did it - did find it off-putting having all those people watching me though! Must remember to pack my climbing shoes this time round and do it again!
